Edit: just read they quit. Honestly I thought Jimmy would last longer since he seemed to be holding up well, and I thought TJ would try to tough it out longer since he really needs all the help he can get to not get eliminated. Especially with Sam pushing his redemption arc. Guess TJ really isn't cut out for this stuff.

Vance has arrived and given the remaining fish coffee and some food (It's just grits in a large bowl they all have to eat out of). Tay has announced that she is about to shit herself and needs toilet paper. Oh lord.

Tay says this shit is going to be bad and will probably clear the room. Danye says Tay's shit won't be worse than his. "Trust me. I'm holding it right now. I've done this before." He says that him and Tay should have a shit-off and see who's is worse.

Tay and Danye are wide awake and talking. Trish and Shinji are awake but not saying much.

I watched some of the show tonight and maybe I'm burned out on it, but found it revolting.

I've never really liked the vomit angle to it.

Having people eat hot peppers, get esophageal spasms, then vomit into sand where Jimmy picks it up people's sick with his bare hands (while the gay black one screeches like a bird) is not something I want to watch.

It was a little better after they put the bag over his head to shut him up, but idk.

I guess the stuff I like is more psychological.

I’ve been taking a lot of notes and writing in my free time comparing and contrasting seasons one and two, and the cage part 3 seems like an unholy combination of the cage parts 1 and 2. The first cage challenge was great because there was chemistry between the fish. There was constant tension because the fish who were perhaps scheming in the background or hated each other now had to be in a room face to face with the people they hated. It worked the other way too since Letty was try to gain back Jon’s trust. On top of all that the fish largely didn’t need instruction from the production because they could make content based on their chemistry and content generating skills.

Cage part two also worked because there were only two fish left and one of those fish went out of her way to avoid hostility all show. Since there was a lack of tension production intervened in order to provide plenty of challenges and content. Even though the fish couldn’t carry this challenge with chemistry alone, it still allowed some creative content to be produced by the fish.

Cage part three doesn’t have either of these. The remaining fish have practically no chemistry and act like friendly co-workers rather than allies or enemies, therefore tension cannot carry this cage challenge. This cage challenge also has plenty of fish and it’s not a finale so it lacks the excuses required for a cage part two situation where heavy production guidance is viable. What we’re left with is cage part two but with people nobody really cares about or to root for. The only one who is capable of producing original content consistently is Jimmy, and his creativity is being a bit stifled due to production guiding these challenges so heavily.

Some parts have been good like the production says challenge with TTS, or the cake bit. It just sucks knowing it could be so much better if production played their cards better earlier in the season.

I'm not usually one to complain, and I have genuinely enjoyed this season so far, but can they please remove Duanye? He is fucking obnoxious and could be replaced by pretty much anyone for better content. I'm tired of hearing him go on and on yelling about nothing.

I think it would be funny to bring in someone with a really high tolerance for discomfort, like a marine or real combat veteran, and either have him berate the fish for being pussies or try to gaslight them into thinking the tank is as difficult as an actual war/boot camp.

I stay tuned in and hope he stays if only because I hope with all of my heart that he will be tormented by the audience/production. Hearing his incessant HAWWW regressing from a loud squawk to a tiny squeak as he grows weak from exhaustion will be like music to me.

Well, never mind. Ben has come upstairs and is removing Danye. Danye is arguing, asking why he has to leave and thinks Ben is joking. Ben is saying he's not joking, he's not bringing up Jet or anyone else up to confirm it. Ben says everyone else is asleep and he's making the choice because the audience doesn't like Danye. Danye eventually leaves.

Now it's just Shinji and Tay.

If you look closely at the closet, it almost looks like they may have germicidal lights. There's green lights and it reminds me of that crypto ape incident.

Trish has just left the cell. Tay and Shinji are the only fish remaining. If I had to guess who the last two would be, I would not have guessed them. Tay has impressed me a lot with her willingness to go all in on challenges, I started out thinking she was boring and would be one of the first to get eliminated but she's still going strong. If she wins the whole show, she's earned it. Shinji has started to change from a quirky side character into a serious, legitimate competitor. He feels like this season's Josie, but just like Josie, he is able to put up with more than the audience expected.

Taking Duanye out of the cell was a good choice, him being there ruins the tension of having only two fish left. I don't know if Ben was telling the truth when he said the rest of production was asleep and it was his individual decision, but if he was, he has good show production instincts and should be given more decision making power.
