With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

The fact fishtank isn't based around fish-vote eliminations is insane to me. there's so much natural drama, alliances, enemies, betrayals that come from it

I think I'd just add, Jet was constantly using all the work for S2 as an excuse for S1's poor edits, I wanna know what work he's talking about?
The contestants were all FT fans, boring and flaked way too easy so either he's real shit at doing auditions or he just didnt care and the challenges are mostly recycled bits from S1.
Other than whippits, what was he doing in this time?

At this point, I would have preferred season 2 to be the old fish in the new house with new challenges. I would have liked new competent fish, but recycling the cast would have been more entertaining than the challenges

Jet and Ben think the show is about them, it's so gay lol. Josie and Vance are good at staying in their lane and not hogging up the limelight, so props to them, I actually would like them to return next season.

As for the contestants, Tay and Jimmy are the only interesting fish, with Shinji being a good supporting role. You can't blame the contestants though, like other people say, production constantly changing the rules, forcing bits that suck, fake eliminations, etc, kill any interest they would otherwise have in participating.

Thomas/TJ is a retard though, he needs to be out yesterday. I wasn't fond of Cole but I would totally trade TJ for him.

I haven't really been watching even when I am bored and have free time because of this, it feels completely nonsensical and not even in a funny way, Rules constantly change so much that the contestants aren't even bothered they just do whatever because they cant be fucked to try when nothing really matters, the thing with constantly crying that production told them to do something has really made everything suck because none of the fish actually dislike each other or have any rivalry really since they all keep apologizing and saying sam or jet told them to do something. It wont stop either because they refuse to actually punish anyone for doing it it makes the whole show feel more like a zoomer hangout than a cutthroat game show.
 
Ben gave Shinji a new aids test, here's hoping Donye stays the fuck away this time.

I think one of the key differences is that there were zero expectations of what could happen last season. Also it's completely fucking mental that Sharks have been such an afterthought this season because they were one of the most important elements in separating production from the contestants. A necessary barrier between them. This season just feels like production hanging out with the "contestants" and has functioned more as a "show" than a competition between fish for money/glory.
