Season 2.5 is even more evidence the "hell house" shit with torturing all the fish is not how you create good content. It didn't work in season 1, it spectacularly failed in season 2 and now we can see in 2.5 it's not needed at all. You don't need to torment the fish. The cell challenge in both seasons were mostly uninteresting. Unhappy fish do not want to be funny or entertaining. Feed them well, let them sleep. That's how you get the best content.

I strongly disagree, you make them give you the best content by making it clear that the people that are trying to be entertaining and doing things are the people that will go far in the competition. Endurance challenges like the cell lead to some of the best content in both seasons.

I know we shouldn't reply just to say shit like "I agree" but holy fuck, can't Sam and Jet get this already? Every content that people like from Sam is when he's not acting like he wants to abuse people, just making fun or being silly is enough, no one would say Xavier would be better if he made people puke

Quest to escort the Blacksmith while picking up materials. Blacksmith is acting like a proper NPC, repeating lines to keep them focused.

I think a healthy mix of hellhouse and interesting ideas like the LARPing would be great. Not exactly torturing them but fucking with them and creating drama between them gives a bit more draw for when the relationships finally blow up. The Taymaker is a good instance of this as was the Jimmy meltdown.

You forgot to mention that Jimmy poked a guy in the balls and proclaimed "NO MORE REPRODUCING!", and the NPC got visibly angry.

The cell challenge which is the most obvious example of "hell house" in both seasons were 95% painfully boring. It sucked ass. Jon kicking a hole in the drywall was the only interesting thing to happen in season 1's hellhouse. I can't even name a single interesting moment from season 2's cell.

Trying to create artificial drama between fish does not work. People see through it. Even retards like Jon.

Xavier came in with some new made up rules, claiming they were sent out in an email months ago. Jon gets pissy, Xav says he should've checked his spam folder. Tard rage spiraling, probably the whole point of this bit.

Was told to post this by @North Oakland Avenue

Imagine you're a single mom of 3 and you're driving your way home to feed your kids after a long day of work, but someone runs a light and hits you head on. The last thing you see is the other windshield shattering revealing that fat retard whizzing through the air directly at you at mach 3

I'd have to disagree with you here. Season two cell challenge was awful, but s1 had bible preaching kino, Damiel withdrawals, Letty and Jon flirting, pissing in the closet, first appearance of piss witch, Sam and Jon doing tard workouts, and some Fish were forced to deal with other Fish they didn't like, therefore being at each others throats the whole time. The relationships between Fish beforehand carried the cell and made it great. I do agree that hell house rarely generates content, but the cell was more of a combination between friendtank and hell house.

Was gonna say wasn’t the cell 2 where the Dumbgay Trish beef erupted from (might be misremembering). Trish (according to herself) made a joke during the sand castle building about building her sand castle to “keep the blacks out”. Then that directly lead to the drink fountain fiasco. Did they beef before the cell ? (i can’t remember when the ramen throwing incident took place)

So far my favorite thing today was when letty sold brown ribbons to the blacksmith for his wife. After she sold them he said "wife here's some ribbons to put on your hair or some shit" and handed them to her. The black Smiths wife held her arms out for a hug and he turned to go drink more super man juice from the flask Jimmy sold him. Letty then said "wow it's great to see a lovely white couple."
That shit floored me.

Edit: and shitting blood just happens of your a man. He's probably got a hemi on his ass.

It was the birth of the piss witch thing, and season 2 had many interesting moments such as dumbgay running the car horn for 1.5 hours to keep everyone for sleeping which ended in production losing their minds and taking it away before tricking him and his 80iq brain into voluntarily leaving the cell.

This is all true but it does not change the fact it was overwhelmingly just the fish sitting around doing nothing hour after hour after hour. It's also easily the lowest effort challenge for production.

only the first cell was good and only because there were no challenges and it was just pure chaos for the sake of chaos.
and thats what make good fishtank content: surreal chaos, all the best moments in season 1, 2 and now 2.5 can be described that way.
people don't want to see friendtank and neither hellhouse, they want to see bizarre content that would never appear in any legit reality show.
another interesting thing about S1 that is rarely discussed is that the whole thing almost felt like a parody of a reality show while still being a reality show, they started taking things too seriously in season 2 and this led to some of the worst moments of the show so far (romantic drama, the entire CK arc, the attempts at doing more rule heavy challenges , the incredibly forced "ring the bell" shit, that sounded like a good idea at first but completely backfired later and of course the absolute disaster that was the whole cult subplot).

Season 2 would have challenges super often. Including segments where they just told the contestants to follow the instructions the tts gave them. The only times there weren't any challenges was when they were sleeping which is the same for every other day. The cell challenges is constant content instead of half of the day being friend tank where the fish fail to cook food and lazily small talk for 8 hours before one big content drop at the end of the day with a big challenge. Season 1 cell challenge was mostly sitting around, but it was sitting around forced to listen to and be insulted by tts and it was a lot shorter because they didnt have a bath room just an empty closet.

challenges are only good when they lead to chaos, in season 2 , for example, there was the furniture wars challenge and the bunk building challenge both wich were excellent, and they were good cause they were utterly deranged.
chaos once again is the secret ingredient to good content.
