You need a normie among freaks.
I personally enjoy having someone who is normal among the fish to help keep it grounded.
That's reasonable, but it makes me wonder why they can't pick someone who isn't deliberately trying to mesh with the background as much as possible, again. It's not Season 1 anymore, so he can't pretend like he's doing it to seem cool and get in with the wigger crew. Being outdoors means he's not even able to "entertain the viewers" because he can't hide in his room and talk to TTS.
There is such a thing as a straight man willing to interact harshly, carve out his own plot lines, etc. What Brian is doing this time around, for instance, is way better. Vance is preening himself as always by constantly trying to figure out what production wants to happen as if he weren't a contestant himself. It really doesn't take much, Tai isn't autistic or internet-addled and he's funny enough. I'm not saying he needs to tie a plastic sword to a string and sprain Taylor's wrist with it using full centripetal force, but
AB on X must've tipped Xavier off seeing as he put Vance on the spot earlier today, and it was about time.
I noticed during the eating contest that he went "Welp, motherfuckers" under his breath when the fish started talking about maybe voting for him. Think about the presidential debate during S1, how bad he was at improv under pressure then and how much that got under his skin. He was so out of whack because of it that Sam had to give him a pep talk afterwards, so this is something he needs to work on.
Tay made a flamethrower in the morning and Jimmy in the evening.
Here's a clip of Tay's flamethrower for those wondering:

S2 double trouble, Jimmy and Tay are still the power couple.
