With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

The queen bee, who left her child behind to pursue fame, has left. Although she was truly "nurse ratchet" she provided motherly care for the rest of the fish, cooking and hugging them, handling Burt properly with her prison nurse experience, etc. This will be a huge blow to the "hug house" and "friend house" as she seemed to be the center of these soft vibes. The girls now have no real leader or person to turn to for support. Good.

She treated Burt like a retard. The only person who handled Burt's schizo meltdowns properly was Binx because she treated him like a real person and listened to him and didn't tell him what or how to think.
 
The rug-pull happened, and instead of a hole underneath, there's a painted black circle. The fish are all acting like they're falling into some pit.
The rug is gone. The floor is there.

Glad they gave Alexis plenty of time to talk 1 on 1 with every other contestant. She was telling sneed to 'follow his gut' and leave, but I didn't catch what she whispered to payton and the others. What happened to 'quitters don't get to say goodbye'? You're gonna lose 2 other fish this week for sure and it's your own fault.

Good point. Every single time someone started melting down she'd go full Mommy mode and start comforting them.

Maybe Nifty can be their new Mommy

It's easy to say this from our perspective, but the Fish have been told for the last two weeks they're on a groundbreaking show with a multimillion dollar computer that's airing on Hulu. The consistent SFX and TTS are chipping away at their mental states as well now that it's not some experimental AI but a bunch of Internet weirdos talking to them.

Of course they're going to feel like shit. Don't blame them, blame the rug pull for being so sudden.

Nah they're having a natural reaction to being lied to for what was likely months. The circle of trust has been broken and now they're not going to believe a single thing is real. Production needs to bring up a laptop or something to show them the site for a few minutes and prove they're not bullshitting.

Alexis said she decided to quit because of a TTS calling her leatherface. She was a Queen Bee control-freak who couldn't handle not having power over TTS.

It would be funnier if they used AI to create a voice profile of previous contestants and create short messages saying they are ok or cheering someone on. prince gay nigger thought teds vote for the presidency was AI created. it would feed into the paranoia

they already used Ted's voice to "mail in vote" during the election and they instantly noticed the cadence was off. The same thing happened when they deployed Jon's voice during S1, people have peculiar ways of phrasing things and the AI doesn't account for this.

She was the real life equivalent of Cousin Kyle and the fish absolutely hated her because she didn't bathe or participate and constantly judged them for doing crazy shit on the show. I use the Cousin Kyle reference because Sneedchat made the comparison then within 15minutes one of the fish also did which was fucking hilarious.

We’re being sarcastic, the joke is that she did nothing but sleep and whine about microagressions. She did have her moments, like when the crew broke into her room and had an impromptu pizza party
