With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

Also you're right, I don't have experience on a real film set besides my colleges film sets. My point is that Jet is trying to both run a production while also managing the fish, while trying to keep the show entertaining. When things backfire, he has to scrap ideas and try to think of new ones. It's not the craziest production ever, but there's a lot that they have to account for. I wasn't trying to suck him off, I'm just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt THIS season.

only they set up the idea of doing this 24/7 for 42 days. they could have easily just done it for a week or whatever or had twice as many people behind the scenes. You're acting like they were forced to do this with the resources they had. ITS THEIR 5TH CYCLE BUDDY, they know how much they can make off the whales, but refuse to increase production quality or hire more people or change shit up. Dont you side with Jet.

Also i can tell you'll never make it in film because 80 hour work weeks are the norm in that industry. If anything reality shows are easier than making any other kind of tv show for that exact reason.

Its almost like a joke how blatant it is, if not Jet himself, some fag from production "i'm in film school" unless its being taught by someone that knows nothing about film he's lying. Even if you're making a short film you understand how shitty the job is but it still ends up looking good. He's also acting like reality shows didn't also have a similar budget to this one while being made, and everyone was being paid union wages for those.

and who decided to delegate responsibilities like that? there's at least 6 people on the crew assign them some fucking roles. beyond that there's stuff like planning out everything before hand. If you managed to see Saturday Night recently about the first episode of SNL, it showed its small crew 3x as much content as airtime and most reality shows have more content than days to get it done. I'm not even talking about arcs, but just events and stuff so no one gets bored. the amazing race crams all those tasks and trips in 2 or 3 weeks. Only Jet decided to keep it going for 42 days.

We even saw in season 2 that these retards were so behind the ball they neglected to feed the contestants, and were wondering why they were so lethargic the entire time. People's favorite cycle of the 5 was season 2.5 where it was a week and a half of nonstop activities and literally the entire season was planned by one of the former admins of kiwifarms and all Jet had to do was run it and Jet's a terrible producer who can't act or think on the fly and wouldn't even be able to handle working on an episode of Impractical jokers much less given a shot at running his own reality show because of how retarded he is.

people complain because basic shit like not treating the audience like Sam treated Marky is what people want. You're new here which is why you sound like such a fag. but you'll be just as tired of his bullshit if you're seeing him act like a big shot for the 9th time in a row.

Yeah I get what you mean. Funnily enough, I think season 2 actually did a good job at this especially in the 1st/2nd week. The Christmas list, the storytelling challenge, the detective Cole stuff, karate, gator squats, etc. Then with the reveal of the mysterious room. It was really sad when it started to go downhill because the set design was really good, like the house was actually visually appealing and had soul. The different themes of the bedrooms, the clothing choices, etc. They did a lot of things right in the first week, at least in my mind.

I'm not trying to sound like I know everything or that Jet is perfect, my point was that up until this point the show has been going quite well. Hopefully they recover quickly and theres less bitching on their end.

lol. look at the crew list for something like Impractical Jokers: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2100976/fullcredits/?ref_=tt_cl_sm (granted it is showing crew over many seasons) but fishtank obviously does not have anywhere near the number of crew. When there is a small number of people, the producer etc generally have to wear many, many hats which is how mistakes and slip ups happening.

The amazing race is edited content, this is 100% live. That makes it a lot harder to keep things interesting and given the nature of the show it probably isn't entirely feasible to keep plans working in the first place.

The show has its faults but they do try and it is entertaining.
