Sam had a "serious" conversation with Alex at the bar and told him that he was in a seriously abusive relationship that he needed to get out of because it was really bad.

As much as I have had some concerns about Burt being on the show (due to his schizophrenia) and production's role in that, I can kind of see that they do actually care. It is kind of weird to see people like Sam and Jet doing things to try and help Alex and going to the extent of risking their entire show just to show Alex that he's in a fucked up relationship. It is technically content for them, but it is weirdly endearing to see that they care or want better for people.

It feels a little similar to Sam's reaction to idubbz effort at making an expose on him and although there was a lot of gaslighting there seemed to be some hidden meaning/intention with it all.

It really is your perfect storm of a stereotypical trashy toxic relationship. The only thing that didn't really fit imo was the daughter. She didn't seem trashy enough, but maybe she was hiding her power level.
the daughter is plenty trashy lmao. Her and the mother were spewin bullshit about production, like they don't pay the winners, to the other fish. The apple does not fall far from the tree.

Sam: You let a fat ogre mafia latina take over your life
Alex: You said she was hot
Sam: That was a lie

-

Sam: I think they think you're stupid by the way they talk about you to your face and how they talked to us downstairs, they think you're easy to manipulate, and just waiting to see if they can get money from your Dad

-

Sam: I think the read that everyone else is getting is that your wife is a monster

Queue the first actual self-realization silence Alex has had in his entire time in the fishtank.

TALK SOME SENSE INTO HIM SAM
"she thinks youre stupid and theyre just waiting to see if they can get money from you"
alex: "cope cope cope cope"

sam: "i think the read that everyone else is getting is that... your wife... is a monster"
alex: stunned silence
lmao

I'm finding Sam's heart to heart with Alex to be very moving. This guy is seriously fucked up and Sam wants to help,

Sam's going full internet father figure mode on Alex and Alex just keeps yapping and trying to change the subject.

Sam Hyde is having perhaps the most honest conversation with Alex that anyone has ever had with him in his life. It is very matter of fact and not beating around the bush.

He just basically confirmed/told Alex that his wife is an absolute monster and Alex was left speechless for a while.

Alex now says he is a state of shock.

I hope he gets through to him but the monkey king does what the monkey king wants.

"My protege is not gonna be someone who huffs BBW latina farts while getting yelled at"
LMAO

The daughter seemed interested in the show, plugged her socials, and wanted to hang out with the Fish. If anything it seemed like she was into the idea a lot more than Alex or fatso

Being the king of a shit heap is still a king -Alex, probably

Speaking of Monkey King, did you guys know that Stephen Chow(Kung Fu Hustle/Soccer)'s A Chinese Odyssey Part 1 and 2 are on USA Netflix? Breddy gud comfy comedy movies from the early 90s about the reincarnation of the Monkey King. It was the highest grossing Chinese movie of all time at the time.

Binx/Mizzy in the penthouse!

Can someone more autistic than me start the Alex / Mrs Alex thread? These two are going to be dead or in jail within 5 years.
I have a ton of posts that try to analyze Alex's mental illnesses and personality flaws. If you guys get this going add me to the DMs and I'll dig them up.

Sam peaced out at this point and Alex was silent for possibly the longest time I've ever seen him be quiet, lost in self reflection

He did eventually snap into rambling about how "iont even care, she's thicc as fucc" but honestly, years of therapy wouldn't have got him this close to the penny drop

As someone who was in a terrible relationship long ago with some similarities to what is unfolding here, what Sam is saying is really resonating with me. You could go through many years of hardship to stumble upon the essence of what Sam Hyde is stating very clearly and directly here: It's Alex's fault for allowing this monster into his life and he needs to get rid of her.

Perhaps by fucking off the ogre and breaking reality by making it appear that Binx was going away, Sam Hyde and Jet (and I guess the show as a whole) have done a huge favor to Alex and told him some hard words that he really needs to hear.

Sam Hyde is a very good and genuine person for doing this.

This show has really, really blurred the lines of what entertainment and reality and relationships are for me. 10/10 fishtank season. This moment has so many parallels to "Finding Frances" from Nathan Fielder and was just as great (perhaps a bit more chaotic though)
