As someone who was in a terrible relationship long ago with some similarities to what is unfolding here, what Sam is saying is really resonating with me. You could go through many years of hardship to stumble upon the essence of what Sam Hyde is stating very clearly and directly here: It's Alex's fault for allowing this monster into his life and he needs to get rid of her.

Perhaps by fucking off the ogre and breaking reality by making it appear that Binx was going away, Sam Hyde and Jet (and I guess the show as a whole) have done a huge favor to Alex and told him some hard words that he really needs to hear.

Sam Hyde is a very good and genuine person for doing this.

This show has really, really blurred the lines of what entertainment and reality and relationships are for me. 10/10 fishtank season. This moment has so many parallels to "Finding Frances" from Nathan Fielder and was just as great (perhaps a bit more chaotic though)
It's so fucking crazy to me when Sam does this shit and he actually does it A LOT
I guess it sort of makes sense like - a lot of the fans are like crazy ass people who are (frankly) losers, so it's what he sees and also it's reflected in the wigger crew as well.
Like, what the fuck is Chris Lynch doing without Sam?
Working at guitar center or something?
Like he did this shit a lot when he was doing the livestreams where he was just playing video games or whatever and it's like "advice guy" shit.

Also like if you're a relatively normal well adjusted person, his advice is pretty mundane and obvious
But the fact that he has to say that shit kind of tells you the kind of quality of people he's used to dealing with (people like alex)

This is a good comparison, gave me the same feelings as the episodes of NFY and The Rehearsal where you can tell Nathan is genuinely scared or concerned for the subject.

On the off chance anyone here hasn't seen it. If you like the gaslighting element of Fishtank you should definitely watch The Rehearsal. It about 10,000 times as elaborate but the subjects are just as bizarre and it has the single most uncomfortable thing to ever happen in a TV show I think I've ever seen.

If Shrekwife is watching she must be having an absolute meltdown of a chimpout right now. TTS is nonstop calling her an abuser and that he needs to GTFO. Someone should keep an eye on her socials.

Sam knows his fans are mostly disaffected young men and he's kind of a dad/older brother figure to them, probably because he's been dealing with this type of person for a decade. He responds to emails and gives fans advice a lot on his podcast.

Not to mention it keeps reminding him that he has a prenup (which he insists is just a "rule in [his] family for everyone no matter who"). Also that she didn't update him on the wellbeing of his monkeys and so could have sold them.

Yes. I also really, really suggest people watch The Rehearsal: https://kiwifarms.st/threads/sam-hydes-fishtank-live-general.164029/post-19730447

This season of Fishtank is really close and perhaps as great as The Rehearsal.

Frank is having a pretty much heart to heart with Alex right now. Talking about his father passing away and some other personal stuff (the monkeys and his backstory etc) Frank has proven that he has followed the show and is taking a genuine interest in him and his hobbies and interests.

I am insanely curious to see where this goes. I am so totally divided on whether Frank is going to treat Alex like shit or is going to befriend him and be the person that gets him to realize he needs to get away from that "monster".

Absolute props to Jet and Sam Hyde and Ben for Fishtank and this season in particular. This is brilliant.

I know people hate Alex but the optimist in me sees something endearing in him and I want him to get out from under the fat folds of Fiona. And I reckon he might.

I'm changing my endorsement from Burt the 160+ IQ schizonigger to Alex. I think he is a compelling person with an endearing personality and can improve himself a lot if he wins and gets rid of the ogre.

Wild Randy's current story:
  • He is a superfan of Alex and requested to come on the show to meet him
  • He has an amazon wishlist of all of Alex's clothes/fashion (murder vibes? lol)
  • He works at a grocery store and reracks carts, lives in Georgia
  • His Dad died on 9/11 and he hates people who are conspiratorial of 9/11 (the tattoo reveal will be amazing)
  • He has endless cigarettes for Alex
  • He is keeping Alex positive and getting him to ignore TTS because they have school children mentality
It's apparent that Frank has been religiously watching the show.

If Alex gets free from Gorlok he better make sure he gets the monkeys in the divorce. I don't want Gorlok making them into uma delicia sopa de Macao :(

I don't hate him. I like him and am rooting for him, but at the same time I just can't have any respect for a man that is doing the shit he is doing.
Also I get it, I've spent a lot of time around recovering addicts and it's commonplace for their shit to be all fucked up like this.
But he needs to get his shit together and man the fuck up, that's completely on him.

alex just said he went to east paulding high and he is 37. that means i went to school with him but not in the same grade. small world. what is his last name? i will try to find him in the year book
