With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

Demonstrably not true. She's recognized somewhere almost every IRL stream.
I was talking about it in chat a little but Jovani fills the same role as Josie in a non-obvious way. He's very interactive with his fans through chat and TTS and it's led to him having the most TTS so far. They already have little in jokes and stuff. Interesting how quickly that develops.

pulling in most of the viewers he made easy business even against semi astroturfed perma streamers like Joavani. the little I saw before he overtook #1 involved him pretty much begging about having to reach the top for him to be worth it to continue. not sure how he is gonna keep it up for two weeks however...

I was wondering why he was getting so many views. But if he's interactive and fun with TTS that makes him a pretty good fit for the actual show.
 
Someone in Yoobles's chat just compared him to Alex B. That reminded me why I inherently don't like this format: imagine a season full of Alexes.

he is quite a bit less annoying than alex b, has way more chill and doesn't constantly brag.

I do believe this is the plan. People complained S3 had no fans to make the show as chaotic as S2, so production is showing the audience what kind of dysgenic weirdos from the fan base would want to be on the show, while they are probably gonna use one or two as freeloaders at best

Jet gets some extra money in the downtime between seasons through super chats and the regular viewers get some new monkeys to throw peanuts at

Well I mean it has hundreds of thousands of fans, so you are going to get a bit of all sorts with those numbers. Plus most rational and normal people do not have the time, or the will to stream themselves like this with the hope of going on a big brother style show at the end of it, they have lives. So you are cutting those fans off. The requirements are selecting only the truly unhinged and homebound types to participate in this, so its going to be loons of some sort.
