With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

i really am starting to put the pieces together now, it feels like the theme of this season was "running from the law". i feel like Burt concocting a ridiculous schizo theory, but its starting to make sense. the several references to jail, the laughter about the twist in the investor stream, the jumping from house to house, knowing they were already at risk of getting kicked out... im not saying this was their preferred outcome, im sure they wanted to make it to the end, but they knew this shit could get shut down at any moment and thought they could get away with it, and now its backfired horribly. im honestly sick of seething at production, it requires too much negative energy, but im KIND OF getting the people calling them scammers, although i still see it as more of irresponsibility than maliciousness. if you're going to be irresponsible with other people's money, you might get called a scammer. it'd also explain the season pass price drop from $60 to $10, as if they knew it might not make it the full six weeks to minimize backlash.

the main thing holding me back from going all out on them is that i hate karens, tattle tale boomers and bureaucrats far more than i could ever hate them for being incompetent, because at the end of the day, i love their show and they're actually creating something, not destroying.

No they 100% knew it would end early. The C&D in April was probably the catalyst for them to decide "F it". Thats why they moved S4 ahead, thats why they joked about the fines in the investor stream, thats why they joke about rugpulling stox in the ads and the cop outside the house stuff.
 
I find the Frank Hassle x Greg friendship rather endearing.
Frank is gonna appear on ConGREGated and I just love the fact that these two polar opposite weirdos are so drawn together.

Yeah, after he made Greg cry on S2, it's really sweet how they came together for SeGREGated.

Frank told Burt that the break up was all for the cameras and that he still loved him right after the boxing match, and Burt believed him and agreed to be secret lovers lmao. the whole time he was attacking Frank while he hassled Mizzy, he was faking it and winking at Frank when no one else was around.

Sam operates under an every-other season dynamic. Well regarded in S1, hated for the artist guy shit in S2, liked again because of Bloodgames, hated again because of his misery maxxing in Bitchtank because he couldn't use World Peace as the title, back to being liked again in Season 3 then pissing everyone off by openly not giving a shit in S4 while playing on his laptop all day or not showing up. His planned upcoming redemption in Bloodgames 2 is canceled so its going to be some seethe for a few months.

That was the reason they got kicked out of the s2 house, yes. But not having the proper paperwork is why they got kicked out of the s3 house. They had several months to get that sorted out, and apparently did fuck all about it.

If any other timeline they would be mortal enemies/trolling victim and troll,with an ending far more grusone than the Boxed life or Frank v Boogie. But luckily Frank's yolks were tempered by the boiling milk of fishtank,and I couldn't be more grateful. The only reason they're so chummy is that they were forced to be by production,and both of them could've backed out at any time,but neither has. Due to being obligated to be cordial they find they are not so different,how sweet!
