I think S2 is what broke Sam and he never recovered. They swung for the fences and Jet fucked it to the point he had to work overtime with no real payoff. They had lightning in a bottle and threw it away because Jet had a crush on Brian. The fact they came out and said they liked Brian so much because he was a good lackey proves they never will understand why people like fishtank.
No, Im pretty sure Sam lost his passion for Fishtank after the Famous House 2 disaster. Making Brandon into Simmons 2.0 and moral grandstanding, only for it to fall flat with the fish was when the season well and truly fell off and he was clearly angry over that.
Whatever it was. As I mentioned, it was clear in season 4 he did not want to be there.
Sam is the kind of guy who works on multiple projects at once and he probably knew S4 was cooked from the start. He'd rather have been working on the Sam Hyde show or Extreme Peace premier if I had to guess.
There is some insane revisionist history in this thread about S2 - S2 was pretty broadly hated when it was live, especially here. And to say Sam lost his passion after S2 when it was followed up with his performances in bloodgames (and even bitchtank and the cell) and then S3 is bananas. Sam was obviously very invested and passionate in each of those roles.

These little recap videos are interesting for showing us the camera footage if nothing else, also little tidbit info about behind the scenes stuff like Alex's daughter threatening to shoot up the place. I get a bad feeling they are trying to use them as substitutes for the real episodes though. Also of note Jet hasn't appeared in any of them so far.
I'm all for Ben being the face of production while Jet remains nowhere to be seen. The same happened at the start of S3 with Jet just being a production worker and Ben Gay being the main guy to interact with the Famous House cast. Jet complained in the sites chat at the time that he was staying in the basement because the fans hated him and wanted him to die, shame that didn't last.
Ben's fake disinterested "i'm too cool for this" voice just doesn't hit the same when an hour after this was uploaded they're still obsessively scanning the comment section nuking everyone even lightly making fun of them lmao. "I gotta go, my doordash is here" yeah sure dude, tell your jannies to keep watch then.
Ben is a lot better at PR but they found that out after Jet's giant PR disaster, making it a moot point.
All Jet has to do is stop being a creep and actually apologize or discuss the allegations with the fans instead of flat out ignoring them. The silence is damning
