I'd side more with this. Drake brakes the door on him, Bashir basically tries to push it back at Drake, which cuts him... the drake chimps out and starts throwing fists and saying he'll murder Bashir multiple times with Laura cheerleading lol.
Bashir has way more proof it was rigged against him. Even his return wasn't done as a favor. They had someone bail and had no plan for a new freeloader. They were afraid of a mass bail like prior seasons and attempted to stop the dieoff.
