I was reminded of another individual who was once in the fandom whom I recall was named Rebornica? If memory serves correct she was the one who popularized the “purple guy” design that I’ve seen float around here or there. I recall a lot of people saying how much of a nusience she was or some shit like that, back in the days of Tumblr and Deviantart. I just remember back when FNAF was the most popular shit on the internet back in 2014, I recall seeing some talk about Vincent, which was her version of purple guy which was popularized by her AU.
Correct me if my memory is wrong, but it’s one of those things I remember now seeing as this thread exists, I just recall people saying she was some big drama whore and caused a lot of shit over her retarded AU.
I used to be a big fan of Rebornica back in the day, so I can provide some context for those interested. She has used many different usernames over time, making it difficult to track down all her old work and references across her now-inactive Tumblr blogs. From what I remember, her main usernames were Rebornica, Reborniclec (?), Deoxyrebornicelic, and MX Bones.
She was involved in some sort of controversy that was hard to follow, but if you're curious, you can search for "rebornica iceberg" or "rebornica controversy" for more information. Personally, I don't care much about that since it happened later; I was there for the art.
To begin, Rebornica was the artist behind this work:

She created her own version of the Purple/Phone Guy when the community was still new and growing. This character, known as "Vincent," was initially a prototype that she would go on to develop a personality for over the next few years. Over time, Vincent evolved into a more refined and detailed version:
Then she transformed Vincent into her own "original character" named Vendetta, which she planned to use in her future webcomic called "The Pilot." This is where significant issues started to arise in the community. She took her interpretations of the characters and eventually rebranded them as her own, leading to a noticeable increase in animosity towards her.

People viewed her actions of taking and reclaiming the characters as "unoriginal" and "scummy" since many in the fandom had grown attached to them. To illustrate her influence, the "Purple Guy loves toast" meme originated from Rebornica. Fans even created their own spinoffs from her version of Purple Guy during "The Controversy™."
These were meant to be her original characters rather than part of an AU which is when shit hit the fan. Since she had given these characters distinct personalities, she felt it was her right to reclaim them, which I can understand to some extent. The Vincent design was technically original, and at that time, Afton didn't have a canon design beyond being a figure with a badge. The issue was getting the fandom to let go of the character so she could actually play with it fully and profit off it.
She would later create another version of Vincent, named "Vince":
And then she would sell him

And I vaguely remember people being upset about this as well (I think this was done on her MX Bones account).

R: Rebornica, an influential artist in the early FNAF community, created her own version of the Purple/Phone Guy named Vincent, which evolved over time. She later rebranded Vincent as her original character, Vendetta, for her webcomic "The Pilot," leading to controversy and backlash from the fandom. People saw her actions as unoriginal despite her influence. Fans even made spinoffs of her version during the controversy. Rebornica eventually created another version of Vincent, named "Vince."
