Five Nights At Freddy's

My favourite Fazbear's Fright controvery is the B19 or whatever it was called plot. People got mad because they thought it was an anti-trans storyline. It's about a kid who thinks he's an animatronic so he removes body parts.

The other night, I played a game with my better half where we had a couple real book plots and a made up one. It's really fun. Some of the book plots make no sense and are funny to read short summaries of on the wiki. Like I forgot the one with burn victim afton exploding in a wheelchair.

How I feel about henry is, nigga Michael did more stuff than you and half time he was following his father's orders.
Dayshift at Freddy's 3 showed exactly how the story could've played out if the player character took the role of 'Casette Man' instead of Henry, and it worked far better than some random dude coming out of nowhere to lore dump in the last cutscene.

And just to make it more of a clusterfuck the recontextualized story post Steel Wool makes it sound like he may not even be real and is based off or conflated with Edwin Murray, the guy who created the Mimic. The new Mimic game sounds like it's supposed to explain all this but in proper Fnaf fashion I think it'll pose more questions than it answers.
I mean you can read the books to know the mimic's whole deal. Spoiler : you will fucking hate it

It’s literally a robot larping as william

Dayshift at Freddys was a shitpost series and it still had more genuine moments and felt more cohesive than what we got.

That was one of the biggest examples of "projection" I have ever seen in a while. The female writer had to come out and full on say that "No, it wasnt a trans allegory, it was just a scary tale."

All of them were just projecting because they know deep down they are freaks.

At least you can just shrug and be glad this means that Pizzaria Simulator's ending is still preserved and William is stuck in Ultimate Custom Night Hell.
Even the clickteam games had major lore split, between the 'forgotten' timeline [FNAF 1-4's original lore] and the 'Henry & Afton' timeline [Sister Location, Pizzeria Simulator, and the retcons they made to the previous games to accomodate them.]

At least you could make some argument that FNAF 1 - to P.S told a relatively satisfying story with a conclusive ending. Anything else and afterwards is just very awkward to say the least and just impossible to consider it canon for real.

How do you fuck up the lore so badly that no one can figure out whether or not an entire game is canon?

I feel almost bad for anyone that still cares about figuring out the lore and stuff. It's clear there's no roadmap of things going forward and it's getting more and more convoluted and meaningless. No important questions are ever going to be answered, save for questions cropped up from the most recent game or two.

Remember when this series was about Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria? Boy do I miss those days. No point in even calling it "Five Nights" anymore, it's been years since that title has meant anything.

The title has become a guideline of sorts lol

JT music released a FNaF 3 song, 10 years later.
It's actually pretty good! probably one of my favorite fan songs of recent. I really like how it sings like Afton boasting about his crimes and ego to whoever will listen. It fits, From what little we know about game Aftons personality, most of that being from his voicelines post-post mortem, he always came off as arrogant and cocky, so this kind of song fits him well.

I also like how one of the main instruments sounds like someone winding up coils or springs, followed by a more metallic clashing sound. I love songs that incorporate non-instrument related beats and sounds into the instrumental, and the idea of the springlocks themselves forming a key part of the instrumental is genius. The part about him being amongst horror's most recognizable killers is also incredibly accurate whether you like FNaF or not. He's genuinely one of the most recognizable horror designs of the past few decades, and him being added to Dead by Daylight, further cementing him alongside some of them just makes that verse so much better.

I could go on for longer about how much I love this song but it's probably not what you guys wanna read, especially considering the threads been dead for two months. Still though, I'd highly recommend it.

At the same time, what else can they do with the original concept? Ironically, the worst part of these games is when they try to tie everything up with the old games' story.

I didn't realize the first movie did that well that it warranted a second one.
Made almost 300 million on a budget of only 20. So it made a ton of money for its budget.

Honestly, the series should just get a hard reboot, it's too long gone for the canon to mean anything anymore. Personally, I'd prefer to have just one more "sit and survive" style game.
