I didn’t care much for 4’s theming, yet SL into FFPS into HW was a great time for the series. HW had the issue of it being setup for the next game, yet it also was a genuinely good game in and of itself, reasonably priced, a shit-ton of content…
Everything that Security Breach was revealed to not be.
Scott’s notoriously a perfectionist, I wonder if his recent retirement a few months back gave them the chance to just shove it out whenever. The PS5/4 physical copies are slated for March next year, that’s likely when they think it’ll actually be finished and ready.
Personally I prefer the first and second games but 3, 4 SL and PS really handed the story elements really good but I might be just because I was there to experience it.
I remember both 3 and 4 not being uncompleted on YT for sometime but same crazy dude stayed up all night uploading all of 3's nights (and subsequently the story mini games) which didn't even include the secret ending yet, that all needed to be discovered on its own right as well.
This echoes what Fusion is doing with Security Breach but it's just isn't the same because the game is exponentially less interesting and purposely even more open ended than any other game (other then I guess Help Wanted) which just makes you feel hollow in the end.
Anyways I've never been a fan of Fnaf 4's gameplay but once again the atmosphere and experience of discovering what's going on was handled really well just like 3, it gave you a true reason to keep trying to progress.
Now I mainly just watched Mark play it all the way (something I did with SL and PS as well), Nightmare just like Ennard was very surprising to see at the time and actually made me kinda jump back then because of how freaky his jumpscare was.
SL and PS just like 4 aren't the best in the gameplay department with PS keeping the same kind of annoying blind gameplay like 4 and in SL's case parts of it felt really underdeveloped like Circus Baby for an example.
But to give credit Circus Baby not showing up almost at all was probably intentional because to play the player want to figure out what's truly going, I say this because it is strongly implied that Ennard is just using Baby's voice which can be seen in its full extent with his boss battle, a boss battle where he also uses the main characters dead sister to manipulate them.
The custom night's minigame styled cutscenes after some of the challenges was also handled pretty well and once again gave you a motive to try keep going on.
Anyways Pizza Sim was very opened ended with several endings depending on what the player did in-time like not caring about safety on any of the equipment for an example or buying one of the certain characters and performing a certain action to see some more story.
But the main ending was handled so incredibly well which really made it feel like a true ending to the series.
It wouldn't even be the first ending a person go for unless they already knew about it because of the cryptic hints about it.
Now to wrap this long post up, Fnaf World, UCN and Help Wanted were all really spin off games at their core so I don't fully count them but I still think they were all better then SB when it came to handling the story elements or were fun to play in the novelty aspect.
It's something I don't fully blame them for because it's obvious the game was rushed but that's not a excuse when it's paid for game.
