Five Nights At Freddy's

I hate to be That Guy, but I feel like the series needs a complete reset. The lore's gotten too convoluted and the books don't help, especially with Scott's pussyfooted answer to if they're even canon or not. There's nowhere for the series to go that'd make any sense and be satisfying. It's best to just toss it all aside and start over.

Maybe we can actually get a game set at Fredbear's Family Diner...

so you're telling me gas chambers are canon in FNAF lore now, and that he stuck someone in one with robotic mannequins too? ....Is William Afton hitl-

I'm not up to speed in current day FNAF lore timeline, but what is the significance of Sister Location confirmed being after FNAF 1? Also, one of few unsolved questions in FNAF for me has to be that box from FNAF 4. I know Scott changed his mind about what was in it a year later, but I don't even know if current day FNAF lore the box has grand significance anymore. It might fit a puzzle piece together, but doesn't feel like it be a huge revelation if it does occur to be revealed down the line.

I'm still conflicted if what was in the box was either a body, the mask his son wore, or some significant child toy.

but what is the significance of Sister Location confirmed being after FNAF 1
It's not so much when it takes place, but the fact that we now know when it takes place. For a long time there was no definitive answer as to where SL was supposed to go on the timeline, which was infuriating for people because SL introduced so many important characters and lore to the setting, which made the timeline difficult to reconcile without it.

Scott said it was supposed to be "the pieces to the puzzle put together" or something along those lines, I figured the box would contain a journal or something similar, which would detail how everything happened. [Tbh, even without dream theory, I can see why Scott would decide that's not a satisfying ending.]

Michael Afton got scooped and zombified after the events of Sister Location. He's also Mike Schmidt from FNAF 1. Everyone assumed SL was before FNAF 1 and Freddy Fazbear's, for whatever reason, hired someone who was an obvious rotting corpse to do security for them.

That's one plot hole, if you want to call it that, that gets solved by Sister Location being after it.

4 being a test chamber matches up with popular theory, with SL's office code showing the layout on a monitor. The gas thing is interesting, because I think The Twisted Ones explained it by the animatronics playing some kind of UHF audio signal that makes you hallucinate. Which, if anything, pumping funny gas into an enclosed space is the more realistic option. SL being after 1 gets rid of the "Mike got a part-time job while being a rotten husk" bit.

There's just so much shit in the lore at this point, you could joke and say "Yeah, Scott totally set this up back in 2016 with Sister Location," but it's obvious that he was rarely thinking further ahead than whatever game he was currently working on.
He really should have created a lore bible before making the fourth game.

What in the ever loving hell is FNAF turning into?

Slowly this series is devolving into what sounds like something Jerma might come up with as a on the spot joke.

Even as a long time fan, there is only so much you can put up with before you just grow tired of the nonsense it has ended up as.

FNAF has long been a FranchiseZombie, but in this case it's literally just a analog to Springtrap. A walking corpse(FNAF) stuck in a decaying suit (The lore). The longer it keeps walking, refusing to die, the worse the suit decays. Until we end up with god damn hallucinogenic gas, the mimic, and way WAAAAAAY too many fucking books.

And it hurts to see how far FNAF has fallen.

Just split the game into different universes and timelines at this point. The people writing the story clearly can't get away from William Afton so just make infinite William Aftons where he can be alive and dead at the same time.

For me I gave up on it at Security Breach. Help Wanted was a stretch with the "Glitchtrap", but now it's gotten retarded

nah, just come up with a different killer. That's all they have to do. You can create a new generation of FNAF without pissing on the grave (and fans) of the old.

I've been slowly fading out of the fandom over time myself. As I said before I think 3 should have been the stopping point. 4 and beyond have been cashing in, and filled with scott trying to fit a trapezoid into a circle hole know as the lore.

I personally don't mind William coming back to be honest. At this point especially, there's no one to replace him as the true villain that'd be fitting. Doesn't help he already has his foot in the door and a lot of people like him. If they introduced someone brand new, this new villain would have to live up to the famous "Purple Guy" that's been embedded in the series since the second entry.

I just miss when Afton was a regular serial killer with maybe ten kids on his kill count. Now it feels like he could potentially have dozens of kills, if you count the animatronics he built to hunt/kill kids as part of his body count. Mad scientist William just bores me.

Just make a Universe where Henry is the killer and William had to be the one to stop him when he decided to slitthroat his daughter Elizabeth.

I'm more so annoyed how they treated Vanny. They hyped her up for a few years and her presence in Security breach was lacking. I know there was code and animations of her in the game that showed she had a bigger presence. Security Breach really just fumbled a lot of things I enjoyed in the series and hype I had for another villian outside of William.

Hope help wanted 2 at least is as good as the first. Think it being set in sister location building is interesting.

One of the things I love with Fnaf 3 is how much it fucks with your senses. You could trust the cues the games before gave you but not this one. You hear a vent? There is a chance Springtrap isnt there. There is also a hallucination where he appears on all cameras as now you have no idea on what to do. This game is all about distractions and not knowing if you should trust what you see or not.

Also I like how the game is self aware of you maybe doing too well and keeping Springtrap at the last camera, so they "balance" that by having a vent that goes straight to your office, as if to say "Sure, keep him there, ignore the fact he can B line towards you in the vent right next to you".

Isn't the Sister Location underneath the Pizzaplex?

Pizzeria Simulator location had a scooping room?
None that I remember, but that's not the scooping room from Sister Location either. It looks nothing like it, exists on roughly the same level as the pizzeria sim remains you traverse, and the built areas around it don't look even remotely like Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental.

[Unless the books are honestly trying to sell that Circus Baby's is under there as well, which would make no goddamn sense.]
it does when you remember Scap Baby is Circus Baby that had her parts separated by Enard after Mike threw him up after turning purple like his dad.

Canonically there are supposed to be 6 deaths that resulted from Pizzeria Simulator
  • Mike
  • Wiliam
  • Tape Casette Guy
  • Tape Casette guy's daughter (inside lefty) that took over the puppet as a spirit.
  • Scrap Baby
  • Molten Freddy (whom is Funtime Freddy that took over the entirety of Enard)
