Agreed, they commit the cardinal sin (of vexillology) of putting words/text on their flag. I want to suggest something better, but Islamists are fairly bad at it (unless it's the solid green flag of Libya -- which was simple but had it's own issues),

The modern Libyan flag is pretty good, as are the rest ofvtge Maghreb flags

I think it has, but I could be wrong. Personally I think it's an interesting concept but a little too busy.

Here's a flag of the Syrian Resistance, a Marxist-Leninist group that supports the Assad government in Syria. I don't know why they call themselves a resistance if they're supporting the government. Maybe they got it from Star Wars or something. I also don't know why Marxists are supporting Assad, but I'll admit they have a pretty cool flag.

Old-school reactionaries in Europe called themselves the resistance because they resisted the advance of liberalism. It could be something like that. Weird for commies to do this though, since it was commie-aligned movements that made "resistance" synonymous with rebellion , at least if this random commie blog I found while searching an Edmund Burke quote can be trusted on this point. Maybe they back Assad in his resistance to American imperialism or some shit?
