The current Bosnian flag looks pretty bad, to be honest. The older one from 1992-1998 was way better and also historically relevant (being the coat of arms of the Kotromanić dynasty). The national flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while it isn't terrible, it's not great either. The three points of the triangle are supposed to represent the three religions of the region, Islam, Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy; or the three ethnic groups, Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs. I'm not a fan of the colors used and the design just seems kind of lazy, maybe that was done intentionally as to not have a flag that is more representative of one group over another considering how much conflict has happened in that region.

However, compared against some of the alternatives that were proposed, this might have been the best choice. The exception is the last one which I think is slightly better then the current flag.
Unfortunately the Serbs complained that an old (catholic) coat of arms was too representative of muslims, so we ended up with the current rag.
I would have preferred using the 1992-1998 flag quartered with the basic slavic tricolor of Republika Srpska, but i'm 96% sure both Serbs and Bosnians would have shot it down out of spite
