Flags & Vexillology

>Flag of Prussia
>Portuguese Flag with Royal Colors
>Flag of Sweden-Norway Union
>Flag of US with 48 States
>Flag of Italy as chosen by Sardiana-Piedmont

And I actually don't know what's below the Sweden-Norway flag. It looks like Vietnam but the host is on the bottom. It might be either some form of Spain's flag, or the flag of Baden (part of the German Confederation until 1918 ).

Yeah, that might need an update.

It's the merchant marine's flag of Spain back in the 1910s.

Flags of Ukrainian Oblasts vs Russian-annexed Oblasts and Republics

Ukrainian oblasts usually have their own flag while Russian-annexed oblasts follow the tradition of making the oblast flags based on the provincial capital.

As Josh mentioned the above post on MATI, here's the evolution of the DPR/LPR flags over the years. I personally think the DPR OG flag is the best of them.

The more states move away from “seal on blue background”, the better. I hate this flag design so much.
there's something to be said for a simple flag that can be recognized from far away. I did find this on wikipedia hilarious, however https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Utah

n 1912, the Sons and Daughters of Utah Pioneers ordered a custom made copy of the newly adopted flag to be presented to the recently commissioned battleship USS Utah. When the flag arrived, the group discovered that the shield on the flag was in full color instead of white, and the manufacturer had added a gold ring around the shield. Rather than have the flag remade, Annie Wells Cannon introduced HJR 1 and the Utah legislature changed the law to allow the manufacturer's changes to become part of the official flag. Prior to being received by the Ship on June 25, 1913, the new flag was displayed at the state capitol in January 1913, then in the ZCMI windows on Main Street and at a ball held in honor of the flag.
"Oops the printer fucked up but it's easier and cheaper to change the law and flag than make a new one"

I thought Utah was Mormon, not Jewish!

Why doesn't this site have it's own flag? I put some ideas together:

I'm not that happy with the shield emblem, I feel it might be too simplistic but I don't have the skill to do anything better. I think you could do something with a Kiwi bird, maybe some type of two headed version but the bird has really small wings. The wi-fi symbol I'm a on the fence about. Adding more specific symbiology would be nice. I like the plain tricolor with the dark green the most.

I noticed after doing these that the dark grey needed to be darker but I'm not going make into now. It's simplistic but I like the colors.

Fucking finally. The new flag actually has a decent design.
Looks like burgers are finally realizing that having a decent flag goes a long way when it comes to having your state seen as a good place.

I made flags for a bunch of site a while ago but I can't find them.
You should either recrate them or ask for submissions. Not only is it a fun little project, national iconography is always good for merchandise. You can make pins, patches, flags, you name it. I've made a different emblem based on East Germany but I can't upload it right now.

Many Kiwis here and there have made flags or emblems for KF, but these are some of the best I've seen. Great job!;)

Your flags remind me a lot of the german principality flags of old.
