Flags & Vexillology

I wish MA and Boston had better flags, tbh.

Hell, Rhode Island has a better flag.

The only good post-soviet soviet flag is the Belarus one

New Hampshire has an OK flag.

People get confused why it has a boat on it though. Guess what bitch, NH still has some major shipyards, and that shit goes back centuries.

I'm surprised that the sacred heart imagery isn't used more often. This is a well know outsider artist, who had a whole realm that he based his art on similar to ADF/Phil (difference is Phil sucks at art)

That looks like that happens if you tired to scan a picture of a cross. No idea how people can avoid the temptation to put it on the middle, maybe it’s to symbolize the left hand that Jesus’s was nailed to the cross or some shit.

Fun fact: the crosses are almost always red to symbolize the “blood of Christ”, blue for the unclouded sky (heaven) and white for “purity and innocence”

It's likely due to the author being an American and just going off the American flag design without really understanding any of the components of it.

Even just running the cross against the hoist makes it way better.

Kind of reminds me of the Confederate flags though.

Eh honestly while it aint exactly a masterpiece I always kinda liked the Papal States idea of a "christian flag"

Simplify the design a bit, maybe just have an undetailed key/mitre icon in gold and you would have a decent enough catholic flag

As for corner-canton design flags like burgerland, I still think the OG east india company had the best one

It's called the flag of the Holy See.

The problem is that it's very strictly catholic. All of that is Catholic Iconography. It's not usable for greater Christendom.

Greek Orthodox has a flag that is used.

was bored and ranked the state flags, was thinking to do a european flag one but most of them are crosses or 3 bars and comes down to liking the color scheme.

the Floridian flag is terrible, stealing your neighbor's flag and slapping your seal on it

and this should have been the Canadian flag instead of that boring leaf flag

deeeeeeeeeeeerp

If your state flag is a seal on a blue background, you should definitely go to Greenland 🇬🇱
Every state I've lived in, the flag is a blue background and the seal has a river in it.

I like Montana's flag version of the seal better than the actual seal, I just wish it wasn't the whole flag.

State seal+blue background is just such a shit design. States like Tennessee, Arizona, or Iowa make use of the opportunity to express the state's culture or history.

Michigan state flag.pngNew York.gif

Check out Michigan and New York here. You can't tell them apart from a distance. There's nothing catchy or fun about them at all.

California's flag is fucking trash, and considering the "California Republic" only declared itself independent from Mexico once it was securely in US Army hands, that's more something to be embarassed rather than proud of.

New Mexico best flag for one of the shittiest states.
Fun fact, the star on California's flag represents the Texas.
