There's a head canon for everything. Right around the time I started losing interest, there was a contest to create content involving "sea fluffies." One user made a comic that involved the sea fluffy's reproductive cycle and got shit all over because it conflicted with a bunch of other head canons.

The worst - or best, depending on your point of view - are the canons involving factory fluffies and especially "milk bags." I find them morbidly fascinating, but if you're one of those people who can't stand cartoon animal cruelty, I don't recommend you look it up.

Pretty darn informative right there. What makes these fics so bad is not just the content but also how the fluffies speak. It's so awful to read. It's more ridiculous than the dialogue of the sonees and roseys.

A couple of the people on the site who criticized my first story brought up that I didn't get the fluffy "language" right. These people are very anal retentive.

Mixermike622 could be a lolcow himself and deserve his own thread. Go on his tumblr and he whines about how he lives at home with his mom and feels like a failure and once cried about not receiving a commission of his precious OC on time for his birthday. He blames the MLP fandom, but he himself is a part of it and contributed to the shit. He's just the first in the chain of the human centipede that is MLP, everyone else is just processing what he excreted.

The first group have a genuine sexual enjoyment of the content. DeagleDad makes a good argument as to why they find this particular niche appealing. In any case, this kind of ideation is unhealthy and symptomatic of mental illness.

The second group are trolls who enjoy transgressive behaviour and are drawn to the taboo nature of the content. Their interest is in crossing socially-accepted boundaries and in horrifying other people with fluffy material.

The third group look for a sense of belonging. Their personality and past experiences lead them to seek acceptance from the fluffy fandom through creating content which is appreciated by the first group. While not finding any personal gratification in the material itself, they are driven to seek approval from a clearly defined "tribe". Hopefully in time they will outgrow this need or replace it with more healthy relationships.

I'm glad that you talked about the fluffy fans as though they were their own entity. As I've said earlier, fluffies as a whole are, at best, tangentially related to the actual show. It makes more sense to just classify them as their own twisted little niche as opposed to being a part of anything else.

There's actually an article about them on KnowYourMeme. Not necessarily the best site, but it does have some informative information, like the minority of fluffy fandom are "hugboxes" which put ponies in nice situations or funny ones (that aren't about horrible mutilating the little pony).
