She is probably some regular Midwestern mong, that gets fucked by Caden every once in a while, and also is getting used as a dangling carrot for our exceptional individual to be kept in line in order for Caden to be able to continue his grift more painlessly.

I bet this was all a ploy by Caden to make sure Chris doesn't dox her, and to make it more difficult for people to find out who she is. Claiming to be from Finland just reeks of a scheme like that. With Chris wanting to travel to see Megan, there's a definite risk of Chris trying to reconnect when the grift is over, especially if said woman is completely nice to him, and real. Remember too, Chris had major issues with understanding foreign countries and being able to relate to them as part of the world. Finland might as well be Mars for all he's concerned.

Chris ha a damn big mouth, yet he never mentioned her or alluded to her before when he was being wrangled by the Watchmen and had free reign to talk about everything he wanted on their Discord channel without things getting leaked (or so he thought). Also according to him she first wrote to him when he was in jail, which makes her either a person with a motive or the most deranged felon chaser who ever lived.

no genuine friend of chris' that he met and wasn't aware of his reputation and the extent of his internet following would go through the measures she has to keep herself from being found out. so she obviously knows chris' background and the fact he's got people watching and documenting him. And anyone who is aware of chris' history definitely wouldn't want to be genuine friends with chris to the point of making several flights to see him.

Anything is always possible with Chris, but it would be a big coincidence that he started the Duolingo lessons in October 2023 and Flutter left for the first time right around that time (she was spotted with him several times from September 4th to October 3rd)

Fun fact that I remembered after rewatching the documentary's early episodes, while trying to woo the Wallflower Chris not only got into the Celtic music groups she liked, but he also considered styling his hair like one of the male band members.

Not a joke: I believe I have found Flutter's real name. If my sleuthing is correct, I believe her real name is Alexis Marttila. She is indeed of Finnish descent and appears to be from Lynchburg (her grandmother Laverne Martilla and immediate family lives in the area). Her grandparents and great-grandparents are from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, an area of the United States with a large population of people of Finnish descent.

But how did I find this?

It was this easy:

1. Hear that Flutter may be Finnish-American
2. 2 seconds on Wikipedia will tell you that a good majority of Finnish-Americans are in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
3. Search several Upper Peninsula news sites for "Lynchburg"
4. Find 2 separate obituaries naming Laverne Marttila, a woman with a Finnish last name who lives in Lynchburg: the obituary of James "Gary" Lyttinen, published in The Keweenaw Report in 2018: http://www.keweenawreport.com/obits/obituary-james-gary-lyttinen/ (archive) and the obituary of Thomas Marttila, published in The Mining Gazette in January: https://www.mininggazette.com/obituaries/2024/01/thomas-marttila/ (archive)
5. Search "Marttila" in the archives of Lynchburg's News and Advance
6. Flutter (possibly) found in the April 11, 1999 edition of the News and Advance in the weddings section. Highlights were done by me: note that Laverne Marttila is named here. Guessing by the relationship this is from her aunt's wedding, where she was listed as a flower girl.
7. I believe Sheri, Kevin, and Brent are Laverne's children, from what I was able to gather.

Why do I think Alexis Marttila is Flutter?

- The Marttila family is literally the only Finnish family I have found so far who is in the Lynchburg area, and by extension Virginia. The only other people with that surname that I could find had ties to Virginia were international student atheletes.

- A wedding in December 1998 and a possible birth year of 1992 or 1993 would be a pretty standard age for a flower girl at a wedding.

- The audio from the airport sighting strongly suggests that Flutter has a name beginning with "Al-". This would fit if Flutter's first name is indeed Alexis.

I was able to find literally nothing with Alexis Marttila's real name on the Internet (so far). Not even any records on people search sites, which suggests she did probably wipe her online record very well. Unfortunately, she couldn't delete newspaper archives off of the Internet.

Yeah but for real, even on the off-chance that these really are Flutter's parents, the only thing that would tie any of this together is if the article mentioned the Little flower girl insisted on bringing her Fluttershy 90s vinyl toy to the wedding.

Those were fun. I had one of those I think it was purple not sure if it was My Little pony. One of my first toys was a little golden horse. Good childhood
