Not informed on the logistics of growing psylocybin shrooms; would it be feasible to buy 10 gallon water cooler bottles in bulk for the farm's water needs? Would it be low profile enough by pretenting to be an office supplier or something, assuming you're not buying from the same store every time?
Or just buying the cheapest water bottles from Walmart?

I think he's too broke for that. I once read somewhere that buying bottled water is a 100 times markup on price.
Most likely it would cost more than those shrooms would sell for.

Not practical at all unless you are just growing for yourself or very small distribution. Water consumption isn't even a big factor unless you are growing HUGE volumes and in that case he should be renting out a small industrial zoned building where high water consumption is expected much of the time.

Still I never grew large volumes, just for me and friends so I'm sure there are many other factors to consider but to grow in an apartment on the level where water consumption is notably way too high is stupid. The stench alone would give you away at that volume, cubbies smell like bleu cheese when growing and that massive an operation would reek out nearby apartments.

Yeah, water overconsumption is how weed growers are caught, not mushroom.

Weed sucks up a lot of water.

Caden was growing psilocybin, way easier to find.
He got busted due to renting out a flat.
Specifically, his massive water consumption.
I'm just surprised he didn't get Chris to Taser his micro weiner for donations.

It's so incredibly easy (if stinky) to safely grow shrooms you pretty much have to have been snitched out to be busted for it.
I believe he was done in by excessive water bills, although I'm not sure what got them probable cause to get those in the first place.

Here's the officer affidavit. tl;dr the property manager noticed the excessive water consumption and when they went in to check for leaks, they came across the grow operation and ratted him out.

Hrm......I do think even more now that this really was a general snitching out by a friend or rival and 'high water consumption noticed by property manager' was used as an excuse to execute the search because as we discussed 'excessive water use' is most often how weed grow-ops (95% of grow op busts) are caught.

Mushrooms, unless growing at insane levels beyond what an apartment could realistically fit, do not take excessive amounts of water at all to grow. About 1/50th of what weed does is my rough estimate and that report said only '5 totes of substrate'. You could grow 5 totes worth from spore seeding to harvest on about a single full bathtub's worth of water if that.

This sounds like one of those bullshit excuses where cops claim that 'the officer noticed strong odours of codeine from the defendant's cup' in a purple drank bust with codeine having no scent at all.

Perhaps but it's also possible he was doing it in some insanely idiotic way that made no sense.

For all we know there was an actual leak and they just happened to find the shroom grow op. It could have been something as dumb as a broken toilet bobber making it fill all the time.

Reread the papers. There was a maintenance worker sent to check for leaks who found the shrooms. Bagley was only sent later after the shrooms were found.

But but I like complicated drama that shows the police in a bad light, dammit!!

My understanding (possibly for no good reason) is that maintenance staff entered the apartment for unrelated reasons and found the setup. If anyone has specific info about the situation please link it. I have gone through the court records and the law enforcement side appeared to be an "incidental discovery", vs. a planned bust. I didn't see anything that led me to believe there was suspicion before discovery.

The document itself was linked a few messages ago.by AnOmnious.
Go read it if you want to.
The documents were removed following Caden's lawyer takedown due to the SSN leak. I archived all of them while censoring out the SSN, but there's nothing else relevant to the discovery itself.

Good show. Archive archive archive.

It's actually kinda funny that people blame me for the SSN leak.
While I did find the documents with the SSN, my group censored them when published on the Farms.
I believe it was Honey Pie who published the thing a few times.
Still got me banned from the CWCki Discord though.

Stay out of Discords. Discords are pure cancer.

You don't need water to grow mushrooms
