Forgotten / Memory-holed Psyops - What things do you believe were pushed heavily into public consciousness only to be forgotten that they were pushed at all?

No offence, but it kind of feels like some people on this thread don’t know the difference between a memory hole and a trend…
Suduko and wordle were trends, I agree with that. I believe they were also used for free AI number/word crunching and it felt out of fashion as soon as it was no longer required.
Maybe memory holed is a bit strong, as in it wasn't hidden, just ignored after the fanfare which is on par with memory holing.

As a matter of fact, I memory-holed your mother last night. What can I say, it's biggest new trend around.

Pogs were definitely a memoryholed psyop orcestrated by the Hasidic Jews.

I memoryholed your mom last month. Thanks for reminding me that I did that.

I think one of the biggest most recent ones was Iryna
Yeah... the level of hellbent effort the media and the willfully ignorant minions who assimilate their narratives have put forth in burying that absolute tragedy angers me just as much as I am heartbroken for her.

Sudoku caught on in newspapers as an alternative to crosswords. It uses numbers, but it's not number crunching. You need to have the numbers 1-9 in every row, column and 3x3 box; you can play the game with shapes or colours instead of numbers, no maths involved. Wordle likewise is about guessing a 5 letter word through a process of elimination, and you could technically play it without speaking English (if it didn't require valid words only).
In both of these cases it's really just narrowing down permutations based on logical rules, which is already something computers can do far better than humans, and why you could buy pocket solvers for the price of a calculator (although the word ones predated Wordle).

CAPTCHA was specifically used to train/improve OCR and image recognition software. It was literally advertised as helping to digitise scanned newspaper articles. The point was decoding unclear text or identifying things in an image was something people could do easily, but computers couldn't.

The concerns went away when schools started switching to laptops, but there was a period of time there where children were carrying around bags weighing like 15% of their body weight. I distinctly remember listening to a conversation between a parent and a teacher where the parent said the weight and number of books was ridiculous, but the teacher said the school wouldn't let her store the children's books in the classrooms.
Man, that unearthed some long forgotten memories. Used to be a huge concern when i was going to school in the 90's and i do remember how heavy my backpack used to be on certain days in elementary school.
At this point I'd consider the whole COVID thing forgotten. Most people want to just pretend like that insane shit never even happened.
Mostly the people that were on board with all the retarded shit the government was pushing at that time. Fuck them.
I won't forget. I'm too bitter. I'm going to be one of those crazy people who rants about the history books being wrong.
Amen. I'm so glad that literally no one in my family and social circle bought any of that bullshit at that time, not even my fretful granny, who lost years of her life because of COVID. Actually that's the thing i am most mad about regarding the whole Wuflu era.

Like seriously, what is he saying that isn't correct or reasonable? I remember watching this as a kid and thinking he was super reasonable with most of what he did.
I watched it a million times since it came out and even my muslim and foreign friends agree with Derek. The kitchen scene with mom's new jew boyfriend is magic.

I noticed that too, can anyone point me in the right direction to learn more about this and what happend/changed?
Turned out that, while still harmful, vaping is much less so than regular smoking. The first 5-year study proved it without a doubt, just google that. Regarding popcorn lung, as another user brought it up, through vaping, that happened because cheap and dumb producers of liquid, mainly from china and other non-countries, used Vitamin E as a carrier for nicotine in their product.

They even tried to prevent offending anyone by styling it Mpox.
Similar to the "Stop Asian Hate" trend of 2021/2022. Until they realized that the main people causing the hate were niggers, and they can't have their precious bioweapons targeted so they quickly DFE and seems everyone jumped off that bandwagon

No harm done, I knew you weren't been a smart arse. Both incidents happened close to one another.

Several bridges have been hit by barges. In March 2024, the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore was struck by a cargo ship, not a barge. Other recent incidents include a barge hitting a bridge on U.S. Highway 59 in Oklahoma in March 2024, a fuel barge hitting the Pelican Island Causeway in Texas in May 2024, and the Tasman Bridge in Hobart, Australia, which was struck by a ship in 1975.
Three bridges hit in one year, then the other incident of a bridge getting plowed into by a ship was nearly 50 years before that.
Odd coincidences that, a year later, nobody remembers.

Another big one could be recycling. It used to be Heavily enforced with actual social stigma and fines if you didn't recycle.

Some boomers/gen-xers still winge when I pitch cans in the dumpster. If you explain that 80% of recycled materials wind up in the dumpster anyways and that it does nothing for the environment and exists solely to save corporations a few pennies they start calling you a communist. And then you keep doing it and dare them to actually fucking do something about it and they never do.

Y2k and the Dotcom bubble bursting. 2001 the dotcom bubble went pop and wiped billions off of the stock market, threating a major recession. Luckily for the west, two planes hit some buildings and it all went away, some how.
