Forgotten / Memory-holed Psyops - What things do you believe were pushed heavily into public consciousness only to be forgotten that they were pushed at all?

At this point I'd consider the whole COVID thing forgotten. Most people want to just pretend like that insane shit never even happened.
I distinctly remember seeing an ad on TV that informed normies they need to open their windows to "waft COVID 19 particles outside."
The literal shit normoids swallowed around that time was a big eye opener.

I think it was just a part of some internet trolling, people made up a lot of weird stuff about the virus, especially at the very beginning when no one knew what was actually going on. I recall some moron talking about how it's bad that the winds are getting stronger because it's going to spread the virus more or how you shouldn't use your freezer because the virus can survive low temperatures and you can get an infection from your fridge weeks later. It didn't help you couldn't escape the topic at all, it was everywhere on the internet, even in niche communities.

No it was an actual government ad I saw on TV, I remember thinking "it really is all just BS, isn't it?".
I'm going to trust you on your word considering the amount of the retarded bullshit that was being done and said at the time.
In my country we were advised to disinfect every single item we bought at the store. Imagine coming back with several bags of groceries and being expected to carefully spray every single little thing with ethanol that also happens to be heavily in-demand while some fucking idiot tells you that the government might have to confiscate vodka bottles from the shops when we start running out of resources. The whole thing was a giant overreaction and I hate how it took away what could have been two years of a regular life.

Vegetarianism is almost irradicated because it is a healthy lifestyle. That isn't the problem, the problem is how many chemicals and toxins are in every day food and how ozempic a system flusher. Cloves, Iodine (Banned in the UK) help flush parasites and heavy metals from the system in the same way ozempic does.

The conspiracy theory - Lab grown meat is a distraction by using extreme examples that people can look at and either agree to or be disgusted by, all the while, 90% of food is lab grown in that it is heavy chemicals. Real food is running out and synthetic food is the way of the future, but the sides effects are obesity, cancer and death. Alternatives to these chemicals are either banned, so expensive as to be unaffordable for the majority, or are replaced with chemicals on the sly.
What was once a kelp-cleanse, fast, or detox, is now called psuedo-science, hippy-woo-woo, dangerous or illegal.

You won't eat the bugs or the fake meat. You will continue to consume chemicals made in vats as an alternative/padding for food.
This is a thing I've thought of as well. On the right wing there are influencers pushing meat heavy diets yet avoiding processed foods, while on the left there is a fear of dairy and a love of heavily processed vegan replacements. If one falls into either camp they're fucked long term.

Not a psyop I don't think, but what happened to those two astronauts that were stuck in space for months?
There was a distress signal saying something had gone wrong, which NASA denied, then admitted it was a training exercise followed by them getting stuck in space.

Then they were saved, possible CGI of the touchdown, possible body doubles used for the interview and it all went quiet.

or how you shouldn't use your freezer because the virus can survive low temperatures and you can get an infection from your fridge weeks later.
There was a ton of gaslighting going on everywhere regarding COVID.

My school's library stopped allowing anyone to check out books for a while because COVID was supposed to be able to survive on paper for a long time and infect future readers. Students could still look at books in the library as long as they wore medical masks, but they weren't allowed to reshelve any books themselves. We had to put books on the "contaminated" shelf so the librarians could "disinfect" them under a UV light or whatever before reshelving them.

I'm convinced it was an excuse to destroy books that threatened the popular narratives of the time.

Did anyone here even ever own one?
I did. It was heavily discounted, as I bought it when the fad was starting to fade. The 3D glasses that came with the TV were a joke. One pair started having issues a year later and a replacement was several hundred dollars as they stopped getting manufactured. I just pitched the glasses and the TV was great without them. I think the last time I attempted to watch anything in 3D was maybe 2012-2013.

This case specifically is kind of being spun here as a full support for murder but in the actual clip it's more of a nervous laugh and the shows got called off because of background shit that happened after kyle made that statement. This wasn't a planned thing, Kyle blurting that shit out was clearly NOT part of the plan that day. There was a clear weird psyop that happened immediately after this of "jack black was never funny guys!" for both sides of the political machine. One side because he shut shit down after kyle said to kill trump, the other because kyle said it and he laughed at it. Both had similar extraneous bullshit tacked on but it was clear that moment was why both sides of the politically focused went ham on him.

Considering jack black is still showing up in places as basically himself played up I'm guessing that psyop didn't succeed fully.

EDIT: Fuck this post was a while ago. I don't know if I already replied to it and I'm too lazy to skim the thread BLEUGH.

Here's one for you--computer viruses, circa late 1990s and early 2000s. Stuff like ILOVEYOU wreaked havoc on Windows computers (not Macs) despite it being extremely obvious by modern standards.

IT still has to tell shit-for-brains woman/DEI employees not to fall for phishing emails and every once in a while some new malware surfaces, but the idea of the computer virus was this big thing, lurking everywhere to destroy everything without warning, and would be the plot of everything from movies to children's books. And then it just disappeared.

It's not that computer viruses disappeared, just mostly got rebranded as malware, but the whole big "thing" over them kind of vanished.

There was this whole saga with facebook when it rebranded to meta and Zuckerberg got it into his head that he was going to make vr a thing.

First there was this very long (like I think half a day) long facebook outage, like you couldn't access facebook anywhere it was as if facebook.com didn't exist (I'd wish).

Then a day or so later this whistleblower shows up all of the msm kiss her ass and say how she's going to expose facebook for spreading misinformation and right wing propaganda or whatever the fuck, facebook was always the big bad boogieman of big tech you were allowed to hate and it just reached a feaver pitch those few days.

The whistleblower was meant to testify in front of congress so to nobody's surprise absolutely nothing happened, until some time later facebook rebranded to meta and start posting schizo ads about how the future is in the metaverse. The ads were legit weird, here's one that I remember (sorry don't know how to embed):

Along side that their stock tanked (not that I think the stock market matters shit but that's what everybody was talking about).

Next few months they shill the metaverse everywhere, they were making VR headsets and snoop dog was buying properties in the metaverse, you were going to work in the metaverse, play in the metaverse, shit in the metaverse, and you were either going to accept it or be a ludite chud who hates progress. Somehow metaverse became a part of the whole crypto / web 3 / decentralized bs circle jerk as well.

Then some times later they started selling the headsets, they cost like a grand each and nobody in their right mind was going to drop a grand on a brand new experimental piece of headware to be alone in the metaverse. Whole project bombed and the shilling campaign ended instantly.

In a few months, maybe a year, meta segways into AI, they are basically the only ones who released open source models, all the local ai people love them, they get plenty of respect from the techies that used to hate them, by now the normies only know meta as the boring company that owns facebook, instagram and what's app (they might not even necessarily know they own the last two, sad state of afairs). There are hardly any msm hitpieces on facebook like their used to be, there is just some left over hate for facebook boomers coming from your average leftist. It was as if the whole company got a PR clean slate.

I know that tech shilling campaigns are dime a dozen but something about this whole thing didn't sit right with me. I remember thinking how stupid their rebrand is and how nobody was going to give a shit, and in a way I was right just not in the way I meant it. The phrasing used by the shills reminded me a lot of covid era hysteria and now it reminds me somewhat of AI hysteria, but the difference is that the metaverse didn't end up going mainstream like the other two.

I would have completely forgotten about the metaverse stuff if I wasn't at this conference in august where one of the guys mentioned it. It was a room full of professors and PHD students wondering how come this amazing innovative project failed. None of them thought it could do with the fact it felt like and was named after a thing in a distopia novel and that it cost an arm and a leg to plug yourself into. I haven't heard anybody mention the outage and whistleblower stuff ever, even though I'm sure those were somehow the reason for the rebranding and the segway into VR.

Yeah I remember their wording was also very... "I'll have the special pasta ready by tonight" any time they brought up food, it was very "what an odd thing to say".
I'll always remember John Podesta having a "hotdog stand" in Hawaii....and then fast forward to that guy finding a bunker/vault in Hawaii broadcasting wifi signals

Sea level rising - when I was a kid in the late 90s, early 00s, Discovery Channel, History Channel, probably others I can't remember, that platformed people like Bill Nye, Neil deGrasse Tyson, had documentaries about how predictions show sea levels will rise by several meters and that massive amounts of land will be lost. Saying that the glaciers will completely melt in 10 to 20 years because of global warming and that we need to act urgently or we'll all be dead, the entire earth will heat up to unlivable temperatures, crops will fail and we'll all die. As a kid that was pretty believable, when you still trusted stuff on the TV from what everyone said were scientists, they surely can't be wrong, schools were teaching the scientific religion (that science is always right and better than everything else), our parents were busy working or neglecting us by not teaching us anything about the world and leaving it all to the school system and media, in a time before the Internet was as accessible as today (before powerful search engines) there was no powerful opposition to these ideologies kids were being indoctrinated into.
Everything we were exposed to since childhood was constant nihilist death cult propaganda. No wonder the Millennials turned out fucked up.

Yeah COVID was an absolute waste of 2 years of everyones life.

Slight PL, but I remember back in March 2020 when it was officially an "oh shit" across the world my job at the time said everyone shouldn't wear masks because its not a big deal. Then literally the next week they demanded everyone wear masks and sanitize their hands every 10 minutes (no exaggeration). But hey, for the peeps that took advantage of the situation and convinced their bosses they need to work from home because they're immune compromised you the real OG's!

Yeah that whistleblower was such a fucking fake and gay op. All she said was stuff everyone already knew about Fagbook not giving a shit and letting the boomers self delude, but because she was wrapping it on a "le right wing extremism le hate speech" all sorts of mainstream media started kissing her ass and boosting her name as if she was some sort of massive pioneer like Snowden.

She disappeared. as quickly as she appeared.

Also the MetaVerse was less a psyop and more Meta deluding themselves into thinking VR was the next big thing. Literally everything they promised VRChat did better, faster, and somehow less gay despite it being gooner central (probably because the gooners and groomers there at least don't force you into a corporate hellhole and you can make your own private servers where you can scream nigger if you want without getting banned from the entire game).

Those past two months I've seen people, mainly american of african origin, talking about the "Black Fatigue", I'll ask everyone, how many time it will take to everyone to forget about it?

Until the next time a White person has to deal with a nigger, then it'll come back to them.

I think the biggest psyop here is the memory holing of the fact that black fatigue is just the advertiser friendly rephrasing of the internet term nigger fatigue. I got to witness that happen in real time because the black fatigue talk videos were kinda interesting cause they started ramble/rant style vids of people just spouting out their opinions onto the internet which sometimes straight up brought up how the actual term wasn't advertiser friendly but then I gradually started seeing the broccoli hair people that constantly winge about transphobia and shit frame it like it was a term invented by some "queer woman pee o seea byepokke influencer" I never fucking heard of and then that became the narrative before it just stopped being brought up and the vids got more fake gay and clearly scripted nigger parroting puppet video esssayist type shit so I just tuned the fuck out.

It's like a more current year-ific remake of how trannychaser got censored to "chaser" at some point and now it's just treated like you're supposed to instantly know when someone says chaser they mean someone that fetishizes transpeople instead of that being just the broader stereotype of coomer that umbrellas stuff like trannychaser and chubbychaser. Big difference is that oen happened when you could stills ay tranny and not risk being unpersoned online.

The System always comes up with a new weather-related bullshit campaign to justify long term goals for billionaire landowners. electric car manufacturers etc. A few years ago I saved a quote that sounds believable to me because I'm well aware how much politicians and the MSM lie about absolutely everything:
"CO2 is 0.04% of the atmosphere. Human beings create only 3% of that 0.04%. Is anyone seriously suggesting that we should stand the economy on its head, force up energy prices, damage business, jeopardise employment, because 0.04% of the atmosphere is CO2?" Yes Alan, that's exactly what the climate totalitarians are suggesting, because none of this really has anything to do with saving the planet, and everything to do with deliberately wiping out the middle class, drastically reducing our standard of living and exerting absolute totalitarian control over every aspect of our lives, under the guise of "saving the planet" from the non-existent "climate emergency".
I can't remember who said it, though. I also recommend listening to James Corbett, he discussed this topic a lot.
