Eddie Van Halen

All you need to do is read his recent interview with Billboard to get a glimpse of what's wrong with him.

Also, his treatment towards original bassist Michael Anthony was completely unnecessary and undeserved.

I think pretty much anyone in Van Halen has celebrity status for life. Even if they're douchebags. Like pretty much everyone in Van Halen.

I've watched several interviews with several of the current and former members of the band.

And I've come to the conclusion that Michael Anthony might be the only down to earth member of the band.

I also gotta give props to the fact that he picks the high ground every time Eddie and Alex thrown him under the bus.

Does Christopher Hitchens count? He's been dead for about 4 years.

He managed to 'tard-rage for an entire book, ripping off The God Delusion (God is not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything).

And for all of his vitriol against people like Henry Kissinger, Hitchens praised the Bush administration's foreign policy shamelessly, and without any sense of irony.

Apart from moral and intellectual hypocrisy, he never admitted to being wrong/mistaken.

Then there's this:

He was a douchebag for sure, but I don't recall him being especially bad compared to most other political writers. If nothing else, he actually was willing to be waterboarded himself, and reversed his previous stance that it wasn't really torture.

Former Celeb i agree with. but what makes him a cow?
He's basically like Ted "Draft dodging chi-mo" Nugent.

A has been rocker from Detroit who is very popular with conservatives and redneck hicks with his rants about how he's anti-Obama and pro-Confederate flag (funny coming from a guy from Michigan)

Another thing that makes him lulzy is his sudden shifts from wanksta rap, to nu metal, to country music.

drtoboggan, Good thread!!
How about Paul Reubens?
For Pee-Wee Herman to go from beloved child entertainer to pervert masturbating in an adult theater was a bit of a blow (hmm. Nahh.) to those of us who used to light up and watch his shows Saturday morning
And, how do you explain that to the kids? Well, you just don't.

Well, he got caught masturbating in the theater, and that makes all the difference.

He played a great part in the movie Blow. He recently voiced a character on Tron Uprising and apparently is making a new Pee Wee movie.

And I'd like to nominate Andrew Dice Clay.
It's not easy to get banned for over 20 years by MTV.
But he did it.
Who knew that his character playing a chauvinistic pig was his real personality?

One more? Sinéad O'Connor.
As an Irish, a woman, and a Catholic, I was mystified when this (then) Irish folk heroine took the opportunity to tear up a photo of the most popular pope in, what, Centuries, while singing the word "evil", then throwing the photo at the camera, basically in all our faces.

(I "met" the man briefly at his weekly blessing as he toured the crowd, and he smiled at me and my sister while chatting with as many in the crowd as he could, as sick as the poor man was. And I can tell you, with every bit of belief in my body, that that man radiated goodness.)

Of course, it all became clear later when she started up her OWN religion in which she made herself a Catholic priest. Aha! I thought.

Anyway, that's all I got. That's all I know.

She actually wasn't entirely wrong, as she was attempting to protest the coverups of child sexual abuse by priests. She just decided to go about it in the most obtuse, offensive way possible.

Didn't Pee Wee get away with underage nudes due to a technicality about them being made back in 1901 or some shit?

And regarding Screech I remember when Fox had that "Celebrity" Boxing with Screech vs Horseshack. And they were like "GUY WHO PLAYED SCREECH IS A BLACK BELT IN BLAHBLAHBLAH. GUY WHO PLAYED HORSESHACK WRITES CHILDRENS' STORIES" when they introed each guy.

Boy, nice catch, dcisp. I was not aware of that arrest for possession of child pornography. He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, though what that one was, Wikipedia does not say.
Wiki goes on to say " For the next three years he had to register his address with the sheriff's office and could not be in the company of minors without their parents' permission."

What a world we live in.

From what little I know of, those charges seemed pretty bullshit to begin with.
