Formula 1 Discussion - And favourite driver?

Looking at the current grid, how many rookies will we see next year?
MAYBE two. Ollie Bearman is the safest rookie bet with Haas, ghost of Ayrton Senna to Mercedes or Williams is the other hot topic, and Jack Doohan will inevitably miss out on that Alpine seat to spend another season in hell as Little F1TV Post-Race Show Boy™️

It's sad, but the F1 grid just isn't big enough to support two Australian drivers unless one of them is on their way out. We saw it with the transition from Webber to Ric, and now we're seeing it from Ric to Pastry
Aussie F1 drivers have usually been larger than life characters, going all the way back to Jack Brabham... F1 can't handle any more than one based Aussie at a time.
tbh I would have thought the Doohan name would count for something, which is why a couple of years back I thought Jack had a genuine shot at an F1 drive.

Spot on, multi year deal for Berman.

Next victim of the Ferrari Driver Academy.

I can’t wait for people to realize that Prema didn’t forget how to set up a car.

Does no one in the media remember how much they hyped up DeVries? Or that Sargeant has a better junior record than Bearman (best results being 4th and 6th in F2 respectively and tied for 3rd in F3)?

But Bearman came 7th (and most importantly British so Sky can wank themselves dry about him) so he's a superstar (just ignore that it was in a ferrari that was the 2nd fastest car at that race, or that DeVries scored points in his stand in GP).

I'm still waiting to see who gets the designated shitting seat on the grid after Logan fucks off to yank racing.

Yes, Bearman finishing in the points after exactly 30 minutes of practice is a fantastic achievement...BUT any of the upper echelon of F2 could have also done that. Ollie's talented but inconsistent. If I was Haas, I'd sign someone like Bottas or keep KMag around to provide a good teammate to learn from. But knowing Haas, they'll sign Ocon and Ollie will turn into the second coming of Stoffel Vandoorne after getting run over by a French bulldozer every race.

Bearman's promotion isn't as blatantly nepotistic as Antonelli's, though. The "wonder kid" has shown absolutely nothing in F2 to justify his status, yet he's going to end up getting a seat at a top team because he's Toto's catamite. I don't even know what the point of F2 is anymore. The cars are slow, the engines explode, and the results literally do not matter to F1 teams unless you're in a driver academy.

If Jack fucking Doohan somehow ends up in F1 while Lawson and Pourchaire don't, F2 needs to be put out of its misery.

Doohan , son of law and zhou all have a best f2 final standing of 3rd. Antonelli tanking for the sprint pole . Italian Verstappen on his way to start his comeback to take the F2 championship tomorrow

50 GRID PLACE PENALTY FOR GASLY
LET'S
FUCKING
GOOOOOOOOOO

So I just read that Newey might announce his future plans in september this year. This will be interesting as he recently got a tour of Aston Martin's shiny new factory. Imagine if he goes to Aston and Alonso manages to take a title with Aston-Honda
