Leglerg should leave Ferrari if he ever wants to be champion.

And lol, it's bad when Hamilton didn't have a podium this year (China sprint doesn't count) while Hadjar and Sainz in a Williams got one.

Their race engineers are absolute clowns, the strategy is usually garbage and it looks like they're already mastering the LiCo this year, despite the fact that it's not 2026 yet.

In my 30 years of watching this sport, I never understood the hype for Ferrari.

I mean, they where solid in the early 2000s. Now they are just a joke

if you arent watching this shit to hate ferrari for being useless wop and wasting 3 wdc and 1 future wdc in 15years get the fuck out of the sport
I can't even handle watching F1 live anymore thanks to those muppets at Sky F1. Crofty's gone beyond the mere ballwashing of Hambone to double teaming with Ted to lick Lando's balls. The golden-haired Papaya boy's nutsack will be completely bald by the end of the season.

tbh I'd much rather read this thread for real time race updates than to listen to the Sky chucklefucks.

That's because a Frenchman was in charge, but that says more about how Italians couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery than it does about the quality of French management culture.

I've heard a big reason why is corporate Ferrari is more heavily involved than separate entities as it was supposed to be with Enzo. Incompetence at the highest levels is why Ferrari is the most successful loser on the grid who will almost always be a top 4 team but can't convert the massive advantages into a win. I wonder how many Ferrari fans they'll be if in another decade they fail to get a WDC and/or a constructors under their belt

Even Hamilton is telling McLaren they need to sort their shit or Max is going to wreck them.

Also don't share a load of memes but this one hits just right.

i think for this race weekend i'll have the f1 feed on but muted and using the audio from this dudes stream instead https://www.youtube.com/@F1Gamer/streams

what's the worst that can happen? at least i won't have to listen to the unbiased "brits"
I've been following that guy, only because I'm too cheap to pay for streaming. Which, in this day and age, if a Youtuber can have a close-to-real-time (he gets lags occasionally) view of the race and a feed of the radio broadcasts from the team, and mass media still insists I need to pay for multiple streaming services to follow the teams I want to, something done fucked up.

(Side note to ESPN and NHL: Just because I'm a Caps fan, I'm not paying for Monumental just to watch Caps games, Fuck you and the fibre you streamed in on.)

Yeah, sure pal.
The weird part of that argument is that it's been a thing since I was a teenager (30 years ago; I was a fan of New Kids on the Block before I understood things about music). There really are new arguments when it comes to feminism, and yet somehow, they still need to fight the same fights - but that's a rant for a different thread.

Ah, so you're into swarthy Mediteranneans?
Considering the competition among the top third of drivers if it were up to looks alone? Sainz has a very Superman-esque look. He'd probably be way more popular if LeClerc wasn't powered almost entirely by unrealized potential and Edward Cullen-esque brooding. Everyone else is bog-standard, too youthful, or downright funny-looking (okay, that's just Max).

But because I didn't show up to prove the stereotypes correct, I'm going to put down some predictions for the weekend, with the understanding, I don't know anything about team strategies or the track, and I'm wild-ass guessing:

Verstappen is on the hunt for WDC. Something has to go catastrophically wrong if he doesn't make pole or podium, but he's going to be an animal for the rest of the year if he thinks he has a chance.
MacLaren might be doing better if they were working out Papaya rules at the start of the year, not now. I think Piastri gets a podium, despite MacLaren's favoritism of Norris, if Papaya rules are out the window and he's still ahead on points. I'm mostly agnostic about MacLaren, but if it spites MacLaren for being dicks to him, Piastri gets my nod.
Wild card for podium: Hamilton. The season is winding down and I think he probably wants to show that he's still got it despite a lackluster year. I think both he and LeClerc are desperate to prove - and get kudos for - being resilient in spite of being on Team Ferrari, which is a losing battle. (Sometimes I think this shit is about as fixed as pro-wrestling just so F1 can write storylines that appeal to casuals.)

Antonelli will probably put in a performance. Of all the younger guys, I think he might be the most hungry, if not for wins (because let's face it, he's got a whole field of stronger drivers to contend with), but to show he's a great long-term prospect. I'd love to see the older guys (Hulk, Alonso) get a little more respect before the end of the season, only because I'm in the same age range as them, but I'm not holding out hope.

Aston Martin made an error in regards to submitting their financial records, probably not any major punishment, but rumour has it that one major team is in violation of the budget cap as well, and probably a lot. We'll see what will happen

Be hilarious if the WOPs went over the budget cap with close to fuck all to show for it. Though Ferrari isn't beating the allegations of being a retirement home for once successful/good drivers. Leclare needs to leave as his likely to be the next Alessi than Schmaucher if he continues
Hard to imagine leclerc at any other team tbh. He's got the battered spouse thing down to a tee, no matter how bad the car is and how bad the strategy or pit crew is, charles will come crawling back. Maybe he likes the pain. Plus unless aston martin make up a bunch of ground in the next two years any other seat (excluding the red bull #2 seat) is a downgrade.

Maybe mercedes if the rumours are true about about the 2 terrorists only getting 2 year extensions?

Its so sad to see an actually talented driver wasted by a team who I have failed to deliver for almost 2 decades.

I harp on LeClerc a lot, but everyone should. I admit, I get pangs of familiarity with what happens with him, but my pity stops knowing he's a fucking millionaire and can hire a lawyer that will get him out of his contract. Lord knows that Ferrari can't possibly afford to look like the bad guy by not letting him out.

There is apparently a contingent out there that believes he's just as talented as Verstappen. Maybe he is, maybe he's not (it's not like he's bringing up the rear constantly as if he were driving for Kick Sauber), but he's been with Ferrari long enough to know they are going to continue to let him the fuck down.

Hard to imagine leclerc at any other team tbh.
He could take the gamble on downgrading to a B-tier team with the intention of making them into A-tier. That requires, though, a team that's willing to hire the best gear-heads away from the A-tier, soup up the ride, put on a happy face, and the hype alone would carry him for a little while. That would require risk. If he lacks the balls to stand up to Ferrari, he sure as fuck isn't taking the risk on rebuilding.

battered spouse thing
I was literally just about to write this as you responded. The fascination that people have with LeClerc is weird. I mean, there's no way that the F1 guys are so out of touch with reality that they don't know everything about them is talked about damn near constantly. They're as parasocial as Taylor fucking Swift. So, dude is not only getting beaten by Ferrari, but it's getting done to him on a worldwide stage.

Its so sad to see an actually talented driver wasted by a team who I have failed to deliver for almost 2 decades.
It's also sad to see that he's not willing to raise a ruckus, either. You hear about Piastri making noise when he's getting screwed by Papaya rules. I imagine that Russell was probably playing the PR game with Toto over his contract. Meanwhile, LeClerc sits hangdog after every disappointing race as if it was a foregone outcome and he can do nothing about it. When you have the talent to master a machine that goes nearly 200 mph, you probably have some form of aggression in you. How the hell he can't tap into it, grab a lawyer, a PR expert, and his adoring fans and do something about it is a mystery to me. Dude needs a villain arc, and it might have worked if Piastri didn't dip his toe into it first.

I'm betting on Williams being the team that went over. They had some major bad luck with smashes at the end of the year with destroying multiple chassis in the latter rounds.

I think either McLaren or Sauber would be the funniest outcome. McLaren because Zak was a smug cunt about Red Bull going over on catering but unfortunately Honer isn't around to shitpost him. Sauber because "hey Audi welcome to the sport, here's some sanctions".
