I wouldn't think the engine would be the problem. Honda has proven itself to be reliable and competitive with Red Bull. I think the window licker who's using that engine would be the bigger problem. He can make any engine a GP2 engine.

It has, but there are some big challenges to make the new engines. I doubt it'll be quite as shambolic as 2014s testing was but I expect there to be some obvious advantages for some over others.

The car or driver isn't really the problem for Ferrari, it's almost always been strategy as I swear to be apart of the high levels of pit management you need to have been in clown college.
As a Max fanboy, I don't particularly like Russell and I hope that Max goes to Mercedes, but at the same time, I can't think of another time when a good driver performing well, lost his seat like this, as looks increasingly likely.
Max joining Merc would be the biggest F1 bombshell since Hambone signed with Ferrari, thus ending his bromance with Toto. It's pretty funny to think that Toto is on the brink of hopping into bed with Ham's number one rival.
Russell is a decent upper mid-field driver, but he's not in the same league as Lando or Pastry, let alone Max who is on another planet altogether for now... give Pastry a couple more years and he'll be Max-tier as long as he doesn't do a Lando wrt "muh mentals".
If anyone other than Max was driving this year's car, RB would be fighting Alpine for scraps at the bottom half of the 2025 WCC table.

It's all mind games at the moment. Pastry has Lando's number, and Lando seems rattled by it. Of course the tables could turn as the season grinds on. I'm not writing Lando off for the 2025 WDC just yet.
George is a solid driver, but I can't see him threatening to win the WDC any time soon. Hence my observation that he's probably the best of the rest, along with LeClerc. Though I'd love to see what LeClerc can do in a team that's not a complete clown show.
you seriously think russell is as good as any of the others here? thats fucking insane lol. hes about on par with leclerc at best. but you cant really judge by wdc standings alone since almost every race this season for leclerc has been hampered by some strategic fuckup or being told "li-co until end of race please charles" on lap 3.
meanwhile russell is the undisputed #1 at merc with a quick but not yet broken in rookie teammate, has a solid car that wasnt struggling as much thru the beginning of the season and has non retarded people sitting at his pit wall. pastry is in a totally different league and even lando was able to stand out more with a mid car before mclaren began dominating.

The redditors have the excuse that Osama has never had "the best equipment" like Hambone...but then again, neither has Max! In the season where Max won his first championship, the Red Bull was clearly not as good as the Mercedes. Last year and this year, it's at best the 3rd place car in the field, and Max is still managing to contend. George is only good for 1 or 2 victories a year on those random weekends where Merc nails it, only to fall aimlessly back into the midfield. Maybe George going to the midfield would make him more likable, since driving for Merc seems to turn everyone into a massive twat.
I just cannot see that happening unless McLaren "papaya rules" them to give Lando all the wins. Lando is in his own head. Pastry is not, and hasn't shown any signs of cracking under pressure. Unless the cars start blowing up, I have him as a lock to win the WDC.
