First of all, I need to take back the words I’ve said in the radio because I thought that it was coming from one thing, but then I got a lot more detail since I got out of the car,”

“It was actually an issue coming from the chassis and nothing that we could have done differently.

“I started to feel the issue in Lap 40 or something like that, and then it got worse, laps after laps after laps, and towards the end we were two seconds off the pace.

“The car was just undriveable. But I mean, again, as I repeat myself, this was an issue and it’s an outlier. It shouldn’t ever happen again.

“I mean, I’m still very disappointed. We had one opportunity this year to win a race, which I think was this weekend.

“The first stint was perfect. The first laps of the second stint was really good as well. I think we were in pace to try and win that race.

“The last stint was a disaster when I started to have an issue in the chassis.”

So definitely sounds like a car issue rather than a strategy one.
 
i feel sorry for leclerc i want ferrari to start fucking winning again and ideally with him behind the wheel but right now he seems to be at his peak wasting his talent fighting an inconsistent car and retarded team strategists. would rather he had a fair shot at a wdc with a more competitive team. theres no telling which team might have a good car next year tho so he cant even do that. kinda sad
 
People who really follow the lower categories of F1, are they worry watching aside from talent scouting? I ask because I sometimes like watching the feeder series for NASCAR that can have some actual enjoyable racing and veteran drivers can go tear it up in lower series unlike F1

Yeah I watch F2 and F3 usually and enjoy them for the most part. Its a bit more competitive than F1 in terms of podium finishers and different winners, and the action can be good at times. The F2 Feature race on Sunday requires a pit stop to run both sets of tyres so that can lead to pretty good finishes. 30 cars race in F3 and 22 in F3 so lots of action. I think there is only one weekend left for F3, driver's title has been decided.

I have watch the lower series since Russell and Leclerc were in the series so if I am still watching then I guess for me they have been worth tuning in for.

Like, just eat real plants, man. Lentils and chickpeas can be tasty. Ask a jeet of the dozens of spices they put on those things. Want tofu? Ask the chinks and japs. They probably have literal hundreds of recipes to make those taste good.

I think it's a good choice since their development input will be very valuable and in the first seasons and make use of their knowledge to work themselves up the field.
And once they established themselves they can hire a young, fast prospect to pair them with a veteran. Solid strategic position to be in.

Checo makes sense, but Bottas is a real surprise. Not because Bottas isn't worthy of another shot in F1, but because I was expecting the second seat to be filled by either Zhou (China being Cadillac's biggest market), an American driver, or maybe Ricciardo as he's a fan favourite.

That said, Checo and Ricciardo on the same team could be a little too much charisma concentrated in the one place.
I think it's a good choice since their development input will be very valuable and in the first seasons and make use of their knowledge to work themselves up the field.
This looks like a very pragmatic approach all round.

Cadillac know they'll start out in the midfield at best, and bringing in two veteran drivers will give the designers and engineers valuable feedback. Pretty much the opposite of how other big-name manufacturers backed teams have operated in the past (I'm looking at you, Toyota).

Checo and Bottas seem resigned to the fact that neither of them will be in one of the top-tier teams ever again, and this gives them both a chance to finish their careers on their own terms rather than being unceremoniously dumped because they couldn't measure up to their respective team mates.

I wouldn't be surprised if Andretti gets involved when Cadillac gets to this stage, as least as a partner if not full ownership. I'm thinking along the lines of Walkinshaw Andretti United in the Australian Supercars series.

Thank fucking Christ those asshats didn't give Wonderboy Colton a seat. I hope Caddy comes out barnstorming, like Haas did when they joined, and grab some points early and maybe even semi-regularly. If they do, or are even fairly competitive with the mid-field that will be fantastic.

Red Bull is targeting IndyCar champion Alex Palou to join its Formula 1 team in 2026, according to a report in the USA.

The Indianapolis Star claims Red Bull wants to lure Palou away from the series to join Max Verstappen next year. Such a move would leave Verstappen’s current team mate Yuki Tsunoda without a drive.

Palou has been a revelation since he joined IndyCar with the Coyne squad in 2020. He joined powerhouse team Ganassi the following year and won five races on his way to the title. Although he slipped to fifth the following year, he won the next three championships in a row.

His latest victory was the most emphatic yet. Palou won five of the first six rounds this year in the highly competitive, spec-chassis series. He clinched the title with two rounds to spare, an unusual achievement in a championship which is usually decided at the final round.

Palou has come close to leaving Ganassi and moving into F1 before. During 2022 Palou announced he would not stay at Ganassi while McLaren said he would join their team.

The row was eventually resolved with Palou staying at Ganassi’s IndyCar team. Although he tested McLaren’s F1 car and appeared for them in an official practice session during the 2022 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, he never joined their F1 squad. McLaren later took Palou to court over his decision not to drive for them.

Palou’s growing domination of IndyCar has prompted speculation he could switch disciplines. A move in 2026 would give him two opportunities to race in front of his home crowd, in the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya and the Spanish Grand Prix at its new home on a street track in Madrid.

He would be the latest in a series of team mates for Verstappen at Red Bull. Since Daniel Ricciardo left at the end of 2018 the team has hired and fired Pierre Gasly, Alexander Albon, Sergio Perez and Liam Lawson. The latter made way for Tsunoda after starting just two rounds for Red Bull at the beginning of the year.

Palou would join two other Spanish drivers in F1, Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz Jnr. Following Palou’s victory in the Indianapolis 500 earlier this year Sainz said “someone that is capable of winning the Indy 500, he at least should at some point be given the chance to show what he can do in Formula 1.”
