Wake up new retardism dropped.
And I'm sure they care more about the sport than they do about writing fanfic.
(After the hint in this thread, I looked at AO3 and oh...my...lord. I haven't laughed that hard in a while. As a legit woman, I can't imagine why anyone would even look at Verstappen or Norris if they weren't the top drivers. I don't even think LeClerc is anything to write home about. I'd give him a pass if Carlos Sainz didn't exist.)
Seriously, though, it's worth questioning why women don't like sports as much as men and then maybe we'd finally be able to make the WNBA profitable.
Personally, I think if F1 is going to push hard on the idea that grid drivers are public personalities instead of guys that show up, do the race, and then go home, then yes, you're going to get a contingent of fans that are only there because they think their favorite driver is hot. If women don't want to deal with the claim that they're only there to fangirl, then maybe they can be bothered to do something other than fangirl (and, for their part, F1 could make less of their personalities any kind of issue: right now, is half the fun really betting on who is going to lose their absolute shit first; Tsunoda for being in Max's shadow, Russell for knowing his boss likes someone
on a different team better than him, Piastri for not taking Papaya's shit anymore and everyone's favorite sad-sack, LeClerc?).
Find me a woman who can explain so much as "lift and coast" to me, and I'll take back everything I said, but still tell that women to throw a few dollars to women's sports.
