Formula 1 Discussion - And favourite driver?

Jean Alessi wonders the same about McLaren and Williams, LeClerc the next Alessi confirmed?
If only Alesi had rejoined Ferrari after 1999. Schumacher was very fond of Alesi and the car was much better then in his 1991-1995 Ferrari stint

Btw the last 4 classified drivers have a combined tally of 1157 GP under their belts. Jesus Christ

He should have realized his emotional tie to Ferrari the primary source of his chronic depression as early as in 2022 season.

I wonder though what they will do with Hamilton should this trajectory continue. Leclerc beat Hamilton in all sessions this weekend. If this goes on I would wager that Hamilton will quit because even with new regs he can't keep up with his teammate (yes there is an age gap but he now has a car where his input was listened to, he has a more competent race engineer but the last two races seem to confirm that Leclerc ios the faster driver (yes you could say Colapinto ruined his race but in total this was not Hamilton's weekend)

And now to make matters worse for Leclerc he has an investigation because he drove a car that was unsafe after his last lap shunt. And there was contact between him and Russell? Oh dear

Id be certainly surprised if Hamilton doesn't consider retiring after this year at the current rate unless he's stubborn as a certain Spaniard

The Tifosi has been the career graveyard of many a great driver
let's see:
Alesi: sure
Irvine: possibly? although IMO he simply wasn't good enough to be a WDC that season. Besides, Jaguar absolutely broke him
Barichello: Honda and Williams killed him
Massa: sure, though we was doing OK in Williams
Vettel: maybe? he was showing obvious signs of losing his edge in 2014 season in RBR already
Sainz: an interesting case. Two podiums in a fucking Williams (what the fuck went wrong with this season, they are far slower than a year ago), let's see if he can go back to regular podiums

If only Leclerc managed to secure McLaren seat for 2023 season....

Fernando nearly brought home Drivers titles in 10' and 12' though typical Ferrari incompetence bottled those in the last race

Has George realised he was the replacement for Bottas and not hambone yet? There is a reason Toto didn't put him in that car until it was shit.

no.
Max promised the red bull founder he would only race with red bull, and he is a man of his word
he will quit f1 when his contract ends, I think 2028

besides, im starting to think kimi is the reincarnation of max. I dont think max can beat kimi

He's currently on track to be the youngest WDC though this season is young and we shouldn't put the cart before the horse.

My prediction was that Max, Fernando and Lewis would all retire this year. And honestly, I hope they do.

As much as I like Max talking shit (because it seems like being head of the GPDA means jack shit, Carlos - boy he's looked sour all weekend), it's tiresome to wonder if he's just not putting in effort. I have a feeling that if he really wanted to, he could master the 2026 regulation vehicles because he's the best on the grid. Racing is what Max does and suddenly there's one vehicle that has completely stymied him? I'm not really buying it.

For Fernando and Lewis, this is not the racing they won championships in, and frankly, I felt sad at where Aston Martin was on the grid today. I think Lewis is kind of a prissy bitch that maybe should quit to bask in being a celebrity and produce more movies and shit if that's really what he wants to do, while Fernando should just let it go and be a manager, especially if regulations aren't going to change significantly for next year.

I mean, Oscar was on track to be WDC last year until the back half of the year.

I wouldn't be shocked if everyone else was just getting their shit together with the new regs and someone else pops up and gives him a good run.

There is, of course, the theory that the regs favor much younger drivers in that they're more adaptable to the new regs, so fortune may lie with Kimi yet.

Hopefully, because then Toto will have to tell George to be a good little cuck and help his team mate win the championship.

The onboard for that one was scary. You could audibly hear the gears break and strip while decelerating. He was on the radio saying I lost the gearbox then “ooh” as it seemed like he didn’t expect gasly and car simply didn’t turn as expected.

It was pretty clown shoes afterwords as the team had no idea what to do and Liam said “you gotta tell me something” and gave him a retirement call after passing the flipped alpine crash.
