Formula 1 Discussion - And favourite driver?

Yeah, I thought Latifi made it through until they showed all the onboards, but at least George is still there. He got a shot at points, there may be more issues since the race hasn't really even got properly going yet. Racing Point is on to be best team result after the Mercs. And even with all that, Vettel still 2nd last!

Also, I presume all teams are changing their tires with this freebie, so will they all be on Hards now? Or are they still going to make another pitstop? If anyone tries to go rest of race without stopping might be stretching it. Strategy might still have an effect in this one.

PLEASEEEEEE let Spain 2016 happen again on this restart!! And Leclerc gets a puncture. Thirsty again for a new winner after last week! Checo would do nicely! LOLOL

Well, that’s the race over. Bottas back to normal. Hamilton still faster than everyone even when his brakes are on fire. Albon needs dumping from Red Bull yesterday.

Only thing of interest is can Williams get a point and can Leclerc make the shitbox look somewhat respectable again.

As expected the drs is far too powerful and is pretty much the only "overtaking" we're going to see.

WTF!! Another red flag. Still a fair number of laps to have tires play a role. Please, Spain 2016 on restart as stated before. Thanks!

At least it's going to be an exciting Merc Merc red bull rather than the usual. I'm hoping for a double points finish for Ferrari at least have something for their 1000th race. I'm surprised that Haas haven't retired that car, it has so much floor damage on the rear left.

Oh, turns out Bottas is capable of putting his foot down if it helps protect Lewis. 'We let them race' though...

Ok commentators we get it Ricciardo has a bet with Ciril. It doesn't have to be every other sentence.

12 drives have received official warnings for the safety car restart cluster fuck.

And specifically said Bottas did nothing wrong

There are idiots all over the F1 and sky F1 Twitter feeds blaming the green flag because that means they can go. Well not until they reach it, try overtaking under double yellows before you reach the green flag because you saw it, there would be a penalty.

Looks like Lewis pushed his political messaging too far. "End racism" is one thing (and not exactly a political or controversial message) but going to full political slogans hurts the message and makes it clear why he's pushing for this shit. Lewis has always wanted to be best mates with black America sports and music stars so has to run along with them shouting "I'm one of you too honest".

That clown needs to be put into his place asap.
I'm almost surprised he didn't pull the Racist-card when he was penalized for his pitstop last race.

Lewis Hamilton no longer driving exotic collection, cites environmental concern

The six-time Formula One world champion has also announced he will enter a team in the all-electric off-road Extreme E racing competition.

Lewis Hamilton owns some of the world's fastest production cars, however he claims he no longer drives them for environmental reasons.

The six-time Formula One world champion, who sold his private jet and became a vegan last year, told reporters on Thursday that he was doing his best to reduce his personal carbon footprint: "I don’t drive any of the cars that I own any more. I only drive my [electric Mercedes] EQC".

Hamilton, who took his 90th F1 victory this weekend at the Tuscan Grand Prix, owns a McLaren P1, 1966 Shelby Cobra 427, Ferrari LaFerrari, Pagani Zonda 760, Mercedes AMG GTR, Ferrari 599 Aperta, Mercedes-Maybach S600, Mercedes-AMG G63, Mercedes-AMG SLS, Cadillac Escalade, and a Ford Shelby Mustang GT500.

He is also expected to collect a Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar when deliveries begin next year (if they are not delayed again).

Last week, Hamilton announced his intention to enter a team in the new Extreme E all electric off-road racing series.
The competition, which will begin next year, is expected to host races in remote parts of the world such as Greenland and Nepal to promote environmental awareness.

The team will be named X44, after Hamilton's own car number.

In 2019 – five years after transitioning to hybrid powertrains – Formula One released its own “sustainability strategy”, which outlined a path to carbon neutrality by 2030.

Yet more Hamilton exceptionalism. We get it. You're a black dude that enjoys a bit of a virtue signal. At this rate, people are going to forget that you're one of F1's greatest drivers (on paper at least) and instead remember you as one of F1's greatest faggots. Is this really the legacy you want to leave?

It is certainly the legacy I want him to leave.
At least he won't overshadow Senna and Schumacher as much this way.

Lewis might have the number achievements but no one will ever convince me he's anywhere near as good as the likes of Lauder, Senna, Schumacher.

All 3 built a team and car around them to achieve what they did, Lauda practically designed his car.

Senna was getting podiums and a fastest lap in his first season in a crap car and in '94 was busy dragging his Williams to pole and staying in touch in a car that was crippled by the loss of electronic trickery from the previous season.

Schumacher went to a Ferrari team that hadn't won shit in years and built it back up to what it was (and arguably still is, prior to Schumacher they were absolutely nowhere now we think it's odd for then to be back there).

Lewis has had everyone else build the car around him and lucked into Merc coming up with the best engine. I mean look at the percentage of 1-2 finishes in each of these dominant eras, how can people argue it isn't the car? Yeah, Lewis has to beat his teammate but we all know Bottas isn't allowed to get at Lewis like Rossberg did. I'm fine with a number 1 and number 2 driver set up but stop lying to everyone that you don't have a favourite and they're allowed to race.

If Lewis is so against driving his car collection then he should also quit F1 and go to formula E. They have a plan to be neutral by 2030? Well that isn't now is it Lewis? Only you won't actually do anything that harms you, once again it's performative virtue signalling at no personal cost.
