I'd say it was screwed before and well beyond what the devs could possibly do. Not sure how much the devs give a fuck about most of the community and hey, $400 to play a shitty mod is $400. I really have no idea how a rhythm game about a straight couple just trying to fuck on a Friday night but all sorts of people and even creatures ruin it can attract such degenera-you know what, scratch that I know exactly how it happened. Soon as mods got popular (most notably with Whitty) it attracted the most autistic fuckers around who wanted to make their own mods, and as the number and quality grew it attracts more and more autists and the cycle continues. A lot of the more talents autistic fucks are degenerates, troons, usually both, and almost every modder for every game imaginable falls into those categories. It's easier to count the well adjusted (decently popular since making a simple retexture makes you a modder) modders of every single game than those that aren't just in the FnF modding scene because the former are fucking unicorns. Whether it's the faggotry I linked and worse, or FnF's General wanting to make a mod about a webm of a woman killing her baby (nigger what?), or coomery which I'll take well before I take the former shit, the more you ignore the faggotry and focus on the good stuff the better. And it goes without saying never follow your favorite artists beyond what they create because you'll lose all respect in them.

I see some people forget how much of a "bop" the official songs are because they're focused on mods. I do like a lot of mod songs but damn there's something about the original songs like, for instance, Dadbattle, so getting a Pico version is great.

What went wrong with Funkin is allowing kids to congregate towards it in the first place. You don't get this many pedo outings and drama fuckery every other week if your game is set for more mature audiences.

I have my gripes with Banbuds but he mostly just keeps to himself and draws with the occasional shitpost. Time for shit nobody cares about. The actual game updated, said update is far more impressive than the previous ones:
Pico, who the devs seem to think is the main character now, has half of his remixes, presumably with more on the way. All of his remixes are outsourced to guest composers, who ended up doing an amazing job, at least on par with KawaiSprite.
Speaking of, I believe kawaisprite has lost most of his passion for making the playable songs. The best songs he has made have been the instrumental-only weekend 1 song and the Pico results screen music. And of course the character select screen, which features Lotus Juice who is the rapper you hear in Persona 3’s soundtrack. Crazy!
The animation work was very impressive, with Pico doing all sorts of funny stuff in his results animations. PhantomArcade is a genuinely talented person even if I’m really not a fan of the weird gay stuff he keeps putting into the game.
Sadly, the update was very buggy, just like previous updates. I don’t think the coders have been pulling their weight as much as the artists and musicians. It also did not meet the intended deadline, for some reason the fnf devs are allergic to those.
There are more features in the game now but I don’t think anyone gives a shit about those with how inactive the thread is.

The problem is that it has children and loads and loads of homosexuals in such a close proximity.
The children are the primary problem: they were drawn to the bright cartoony gameplay, and the game not being nearly as explicit to the point YouTube Kids channels showed gameplay of it, completely disregarding the penis-related imagery in the game.
Recent updates have been geared towards the older audience: the recent album art features Pico on a pile of mangled bloodied soldiers, not to mention the cursing in a couple songs.
In the modern community homosexuals and the mentally retarded (AKA creepypasta fans) are clearly at fault for the state of it. Modding the game had potential in the past for how low the barrier to entry was but it resulted in modders getting overinflated egos over doing the bare minimum and trying to put the least possible amount of effort into their mods. Seriously, I have not seen a good mod in ages, the community is WORTHLESS nowadays. The real wake-up for me that it was fucked up beyond repair was some faggots making a creepypasta mod about an actual youtube kids content farm, and said mod getting popular with all the down syndrome community. Seriously, what the hell!

Yes, at least two. Mainly Xploshi, eceleb youtuber who ended up making Fresh Pico remix’s instrumental.
The other is a siivagunner member, I forgot his name but he acts like a retard on Twitter and has really dumb-sounding pronouns in his bio. He did the week 6 pause menu theme, apparently helped out since the week 7 update on code as well.
Saruky is an unknown case, some random on the 4chan general claims he went back to normal but i cant confirm. He was a mod musician and got hired as one of the sound leads, he composed Eggnog Erect and made Boyfriend’s voice sound better (less boring) in a handful of erect remixes.
I don’t know their plan if one of the guests turns out to be a pedophile. With the Cassette Girl character they claim she was cut due to “not fitting the game anymore” instead of the bogus rape allegations. But with the vanilla game the dev team may be a bit retarded but they have integrity at least

Apparently on the 4chan general (/funkg/), some guy posted a webm of a woman violently attacking her baby son, which heavily disturbed many on the thread. Apparently the child did NOT die and the woman was arrested for child abuse, but I don’t have a source on this claim. One guy thought it would be funny to make it a mod, because of the shock value. The mod was never made.

Hell, I’ve heard that this one guy got kicked from a mod team for republishing a tweet that was supporting Israel. Why did he do that, you may ask? Because he lives in the fucking country.
It is disheartening how unopposed the shitlib horde is in the funkin’ community, nearly every corner will flame someone if they dare say something going against the gay or trans narrative. With how many pedophiles have been exposed there, it’s funny they still haven’t noticed that they’re all gays and trannies.
Also, the devs are pandering towards that crowd since they’re really pushing for Pico (not even their character, by the way) being gay for the boyfriend for some reason

Not to burst your bubble, but I was in the thread when the Dead Baby mod was first joked about and it was never going to be made.

It was simply yet another attempt by the posters there to come off as edgy and as off-putting as possible to keep normies/tourists out of the thread back when all the popular modders at the time would, with different degrees of success, lurk/post in the threads. This is the general that, under the same intention, thought suggesting Daisy's Destruction in any capacity was a "good idea" after all, so it is easy to tell that general suffered of a large percentage of underage posters back then and likely still suffers of it to this day.
To give current-day /funkg/ any credit, on a more positive note, at least they finally released Grandpa Death after three years of coming up with the concept. Alongside the /v/-tan Mod it might as well have been the holy grail of /funkg/ ideas coming to life.​
