Marcia Reale did not had any official lyrics but two different unofficial versions aroused as to what the song would be song had it had official lyrics.

Man those are pure ear rape, and not just because they're old recordings. "Il canto degli" is the best Italian anthem hands down.


Anyway, today's trivia is about the words "lord" and "lady." They come from Old English hlaford (loaf-ward) and hlafdige (loaf-kneeder, the last bit related to "dough"), because a lord presides over meals for the family and guests, and a lady prepares them. You can see vestiges of the original words in the modern words, even though English aristocrats and edgy teenagers have likely never had to guard a loaf of bread.
 
Gary Burghoff, who played Cpl. Walter "Radar" O'Reiley, was the only actor from the M*A*S*H movie to reprise his role for the tv series.

I grew up absolutely certain that Shel Silverstein was an ebony black dude so black he literally glowed black energy. I was amazed to find that he was actually just the Jewiest Jew who ever had a name like "Shel Silverstein." God I loved that man so much, in a totally not Negrojew way.
 
I just came across two old, poetic, but apt description of the medical condition known as shock (the systemic syndrome caused by generalized reduced blood flow to organs).

A propietary eponym or genericized trademark is a successful brand name or trademark that has come into general use to refer to the generic class of objects rather than the specific brand type, without the exclusive rights to said product being lost by the parent company.

You know how every plastic food container with snap closed lids gets called a Tupperware but Tupperware is only one particular brand that makes them, the name is still use to refer to any similar container from any brand.

Other examples: Jet ski, bubble wrap, velcro, band-aid, jacuzzi. x-acto knife and ping pong

It makes me wonder what the hell else can be naturally consumed by insects. There's probably a wide range of softer plastics that could also remain edible to a bug with strong enough chewers. But was it ever actually found out if styrofoam is entirely digested or if micro parts still survive?
 
You are now consciously blinking. Your eyes are getting dry. I am now commanding you to blink. You will blink very soon. You will also breathe very soon. You have no choice about this at all! BWAHAHAHA!

You can avoid this by obeying my command to blink or to breathe! Then it will once again go back under the control of your autonomic nervous system. But do you want to bow down under my control?

Then resist! Do not breathe or blink for 10 minutes! I bet you can't!
