The first known written English sentence is from around 450 to 480 AD and reads "This she-wolf is a reward to my kinsman,". Translated into modern English of course since the Celts and Anglo-Saxons used a runic alphabet.
 
That hole in a skillet or pot? It's not there so you can hang it up (though you can use it for that), it's there so you can put a wooden spoon in it after stirring whatever's in the pot so you don't get it on your counter.

Most Kiwis, like many of New Zealand’s animals, are nocturnal. Probably so they don’t have to watch people fuck sheep.

Also an interesting fact, Adolf Hitler's last should actually be "Hiedler". It is that way due to a possible misspelling.
