Funimation Audio Leaks - Sacred Ointment memes for degenerate teens

I honestly didn't think that the leaks were that good, but it looks like the normals and casuals are taking it pretty seriously. Kickvic trying to spin it has failed pretty hard so far. I figured the usual rush of 'oh no Trump burped on camera!' trends would have washed it away by now, but it looks like it may have some staying power. Enough it might force people like Funimation to address it.

This is just sad.
This is just some silly fuck-around after work, its something that under any other circumstance it would be a nothingburger, but because these dipshits wanted to act like paragons of virtue and cruxify Vic, it will turn into something that innocent VAs will have to worry about later down the line.

Thanks, Moniqu'a and co., not only did you fuck Vic's career, but indirectly ruined everyone's fun.

Ghost stories being unpopular in Japan is just bs va's at conventions told to defend their creative decision. It was fairly popular in Japan and rerun on TV on a couple occasions. It was part of a multi license deal that adv liked to do which in part led to them going under. Adv just did what they thought would help sell the show.

See the problem isnt that these people were making funny and offensive jokes as part of their creative process

The problem is when you apply HR rules to crack down on stuff you have to apply them UNIFORMLY or else you run the risk of losing a lawsuit over it.

Also the Dragonball Z Brand was at its best. Most successful non Miyzaki anime release. Funi could have capitalized and grew their company. Now its going to shrink **probably into non existence**

The DBZ Audio drama just reeks of "Secret Missing Episode." You know, those vids with text to speech where you had to be like 1231898 years old, and had to be this much of a fan, and it'd start out with a character introducing themselves, and then stating they're "really really gay" and then fuck another character who states the same? Yeah, those ones. I also can't help but laugh at the implication that Chi Chi got fucked by Gohan while he was fucking dead.
it’s still funnier than literally anything TFS has ever done to be fair

Earlier this week the SJW goons tried to bury the game Ion Fury because it had the lame pun "Ogay", some text you could only see thru noclippjng, and a Dev's very milquetoast comments on Transexuals in a casual Discord chatroom.

Now the same goons are pretending this is nothing because the messenger wasn't acting in good faith. I say fuck it, burn it all down.

I 110% agree with this. Some of my favorite panels to go to at conventions are panels where voice actors / directors will play outtakes (often synced with video) from dubs they worked on. While the featured outtakes obviously are nowhere near as vulgar as the leaked Funi clips, I can't see why an industry guest would commit to showing outtakes anymore when they could be used to disbarrage their fellow voice actors who were just riffing for fun.

I get the goal was to make the individuals who work on Dragonball look hypocritical for their words against Vic and show Funimation is inconsistent with their policies, but I think it's also hypocritical and overall unnecessary to lobby Toei to whip on the banhammer on Funimation and the other voice actors for goofing around (particularly when I imagine the majority of people posting in this thread are not remotely offended in the slightest about the content).

That being said, I cannot deny that the Sherman-esque warpath Rekieta has been able to facilitate towards Funimation has been wildly effective

That's a shame, probably won't see anymore leaks now then but my fingers remain crossed.

It would only be hypocritical if Nick and the Youtube crew were acting all offended about these outtakes and urging for Toei to take action on those grounds, but the videos I’ve seen so far have all stressed that they actually find the audio pretty funny, but that if Funi is gonna claim that Vic broke some rules then they better expect to be judged by the exact same standards.

The fact the guys from a fucking abridged show based on Dragon Ball, the same ones Sean and funi actively demonize, act more professional than Funimation is absolutely incredible.
The TFS guys are all fat nerds writing quippy dialogue that’s somehow worse than Marvel who make Steven Universe song parodies and their owner is a gay furry who makes tumblr comics about how much men are awful. Pretty sure both groups are gonna be held to different standards.

I don’t think anyone from TFS has openly spoken about Vic, though. Could be wrong about that.
