Funimation Audio Leaks - Sacred Ointment memes for degenerate teens

I like the way you think.

I wouldn't be surprised if FUNi got the Toei contract purely because they were able to undercut some others because of the incestuous relationship of FUNi and Sabat's Okratron 5000 studio; where they were able to cut costs that others couldn't. Sabat probably offered lower studio fees, but requested bigger roles and higher-up positions to more than make up for the fees (Cons and what not).

TFS is a thorn in Toei's side. Sabat is now a direct thorn in their side. I agree with you, after what ever seasons they are currently dubbing wraps up--there will be pressure applied by Toei for changes.
Thank you, I've been told I'm autistic.

So, are the rumors that Nick has more, including Bulma/18 shit true?

Oh please Dear God, I hope so.

This isn't just an example of Nick playing chess while his opposition plays checkers.

Nick is playing 3D chess while his opposition asphyxiates on the plastic bag the pieces came in while gesturing they're winning.

Hello. Don't know if I'm late, but I checked google and have found that Heavy.com has written an article on the funi leaks.

Edit: Okay, this part might be interesting:

Homophobic allegations?
What did he do crack jokes about how Chris Patton takes it up the ass or how JMT enjoyed sex as a child?

Btw what's this about Bulma and Andriud 18?

There was a thread on /co/ for a few hours about the leaks before it got 404'd. Most of it is people saying that there's some audio of Bulma and 18 sucking cock or something, but there were a fair amount of #KickVic people venting their frustrations about how much support Vic is getting now.

Toei has wanted to directly enter the US market rather than by proxy via companies like Saban and Funimation and they've got a golden opportunity right now to cut out the middle man and plant some roots. Crunchyroll and Funi can't do shit if companies decide to begin to represent themselves in the market.
Who knows? Allspark might just end up getting more licenses if they wanted to. After all, Toei did license 2 series of Pretty Cure to Saban before Hasbro got them as Saban got out of TV and film. Never mind the merit of Steven Drucker's dubbing work on the "Unicron trilogy".

Does anyone know how long (or can generalize from Toei's history) that 2017 Funi/Toei licensing agreement is for? I think that's going to be the real impact.
The 2017 license agreements were just new and renewed licenses between Funi/Toei and merchandise companies. Not a new license agreement between funimation and toei.

The last time I can dig that they announced how long funimation renewed the DBZ license was in 2009.

They mention that they renewed it for "another 5 years." Presumably they did that the time before as well. And presumably afterwards as well. If the license was renewed for 5 years in 2009, it would have expired in 2014. So it would have had to be renewed for at least another 5 years for funimation to still have it.

So the license should up for renewal in... 2019.

My dick can't handle the wait.
Stock up on Sacred Ointment. I'm guessing Nick spent the day reading email from a bunch of suddenly loose lipped Funi 'associates' and former VAs. And if a flood of his inbox hasn't hit YET, I am pretty sure the odds favor that happening over the next few days.
This, IMOFWIW, is just the beginning.

They got it because of Funimation founder Gen Fukunaga's connections to Toei brass.

Notably, all this bullshit went down after Fukunaga's sale of (95% of) Funi to Sony.

I want to bring awareness, to some fellas in the audience. If you don't think Toei at least is gonna tighten Funi's leash, hear me out.

Last year, on March, Toei took some action regarding public screenings of Dragon Ball Super Episode 130.

These were in Latin America, but mostly concentrated in México. Firstly, Toei issued an statement on Twitter regarding how "they don't condone these screenings. And, please support the official release" Funny fact is, most of these screenings were a dude plugging their computer and playing the Episode from Crunchyroll accounts

But afterwards, they reached the Embassy of Japan in México, asking to stop these screenings altogether. Which ended up with Mexican local governments telling them to fuck off.

Crunchyroll, Toei, and a government of one of Mexico's states (think it was Chihuahua) managed to get a deal to screen the episode.

But point is: if they got out of their way, to stop some randos from playing their content in masse, it'd disingenous to think this outrage wouldn't lead to, at least, tighten their grip on Funi's business (at least regarding Toei's IPs managed by them)

They hate "e-celebs" and evangelicals just on the principle so its hard to take them seriously.

Ok, since you’re either being deliberately obtuse or you’re genuinely a total dipshit, here’s the breakdown.

HR manual says zero tolerance for sexual harassment
lol they’re fictional characters, it’s not the same thing.
one person is fired for borderline violation for joke that had multiple interpretations
One interpretation that’s blatantly sexual*
In short, this skeleton falling out of the Funi closet pretty much sinks them legally, and there is a good chance they will face some serious consequences from Toei as well for this kind of thing being associated with DBZ.
Yeah let me know when that happens. Or don’t since I really don’t care.

Which is hilarious as even Fukunaga admitted in an old interview that Toei were very hesitant to hand over anything related to Dragon Ball when Funimation first set up shop. It was basically his constant begging and badgering that they finally relented.

I'd be shocked if there wasn't language in their contract that gave Toei right to terminate over precisely stuff like this.

Toei is in the driver's seat right now. Right now they can likely terminate the contract outright and negotiate with others. Or they can let this play out, quietly investigate Funimation's dealings while also negotiating the best price from others then walk in to Funimation's offices with that deal and say, "Beat this by 30% (or whatever), or we walk." Right now, Toei probably doesn't want any more leaks to drop that might force them to take action.

My gut feeling at the moment is Toei may not be ready to fully terminate Funimation. But they will insist on changes. Sabat being top of the list.

More specifically Funi founder, and at the time sole owner Gen Fukunaga is the nephew (or similar) of one of Toei's top executives. So it was a pure patronage deal originally. But now I believe Gen's Uncle is retired if not dead. Gen sold out to Sony. So the patronage links and protections are no longer in place.
