It only started as of April this year. But I do notice that the con chair is Kovu, who is also on staff for Furpocalypse. Might be that he understands that it's bad for business to be antagonistic towards potential attendees, especially being a brand new con that needs an attendance foothold.
Good on them, if you ask me. That puts him far and above Remy in trustworthiness by not mandating coof shots.

I find it challenging to understand the rationale behind keeping both tweets up. If the first tweet was a mistake, then just delete the tweet. All they're doing is confusing people even further now.
When you register on their website for the event, ANE requires you to agree to a Code of Conduct and a Covid policy, neither of which says anything about additional shots (beyond the covid vax). I'm not a legal Kiwi, but it seems plausible that the only reason they don't mandate flu shots too is because it would be impossible to legally alter the policy after hundreds of people already consented to it.

I would never attend an event like this even though I do get a flu shot every year because anywhere this control freaky would be a shit place to be, even without all the pedophiles and AIDS/monkeypox spreaders, and for some reason, they're not demanding proof of PrEP or monkeypox vaccine.

While still on the subject of ANE, something interesting I just noticed regarding their vax policy is that they went back and changed it at some point in December.
In this archive taken from their website on November 2023, it states you need proof of vaccination and a booster shot at any point between September 2022 and now:
However, based on this January 2024 archive, they went back and changed their policy, now stating that you need a September 2023 booster or newer, otherwise, you'll be denied entry.
Again, I'm not a legal Kiwi, so I'm not sure what the legal ramifications (if any) would be regarding changing policies after people already signed and consented to it. At best, it's pretty scummy to sneakily change the policy. At worst, this might be illegal, especially since numerous people already put down non-refundable money for the event.
