I may not look like it, but unlike @Aquiliqex I'm very careful with what information I share online and my furry side is kept far away from my personal life. I have a facebook that you'll never find because I haven't posted my real name anywhere and that'd be the only way you'd know how I look like and you can't even cross-reference what I said here or on furry sites to narrow down the profile since I never talk about my kinks on fb. Best you can do is find posts where I'm drunk and typing poorly, that's the only good reference of me you'll ever have provided you don't mistake me for an esl or someone with dyslexia.

Considering that the two of you don't seem to know the concept of shutting the fuck up and getting mad when it comes to people criticizing the fandom for how degenerate it is. The fact you said Furaffinity is totally "FAMILY FRIENDLY" even though it is quite the contrary, makes me wonder if you're actually retarded or just plain naive.

furaffinity as a website does tend to protect minors from seeing nsfw via settings (if they decide to see adult content, that is entirely on them.) but a mass majority of the people there tend to be either pedophiles, zoophiles or just weirdos. the same can go for absolutely any website, though, so there’s not much you can shit on unless you’re also shitting on every other social media platform out there..

also, ofc there are going to be weird fucks in a fandom 💀 that’s unfortunately the way it is, the best you can do is do your best to make the right friends & stray away from bad people.. otherwise you may as well hide away from the entire world

Vore, inflation, transformation, some forms of bdsm, and other fetish content is not considered NSFW despite clearly being fetish content made for people to jerk off too. So no they really don't do anything to protector minors on their platform and a primarily porn based platform shouldn't at all even pretend minors can use it even the alternative SFW only version of E621 is 18+ only.

oh fuck i honestly didn’t know that bit? maybe because i haven’t seen furaffinity from a minor point of view, thats so disgusting.

though, i’m pretty sure the only reason it’s primarily porn based is due to it’s audience.. that still doesn’t make it right, though, to openly give minors access to kinks like that.

I’ve seen a lot of adults who think because a kink doesn’t involve genitals (vore, etc.) that it’s okay to share without any protective actions.

What counts as NSFW on furaffinity is based on the definition of NSFW adopted by brainrotten gooners and paraphiles. There's every fetish under the sun, lewd if not explicit drawings of animals, innuendo, just filthy piece after filthy piece which happily gets through for users not logged in. I don't care what adults like to draw, but you're out of your mind if you think that furaffinity's entirely voluntary content rating system protects kids from all this vile stuff. Nothing stops people from tagging fetish material as SFW because that is the bar that furries set.

yeah i was told, i didn’t realize at first since i haven’t seen furaffinity from a minor’s pov . don’t get me wrong, i have seen straight animal porn and that itself is fucking weird and mentally ill.. i just decide to block the person tbh. i barely use furaffinity anyways, i didn’t have a clue that they let minors see that shit.. i would have thought it had been a bit more secure?? i was wrong though, i didn’t do research before hand.

Nothing also stops children from registering to gain access to NSFW content, and maybe also lying about their age.

If you want an idea of what the site is like to someone not logged in and you cannot be arsed to log out, there's a "toggle SFW" option which will stop showing uploads tagged "mature" or "adult". That's what a new user, not logged in, just going to the site will see. It's not always insanity but the front page is often loaded with things I would never want a child to see.

I cannot make a meaningful contribution to the age-old debate of how to keep curious kids from finding the internet's porn stash, but I object to how brazen and loose furries are with what an average, untainted person would consider pornography.

Where they let zoophiles, pedophiles, and generally unpleasant weirdos enter their conventions, some even letting them be con staff without doing a background check on them. Some of those conventions end up having awful safety or don't enforce rules that keeps their guests from showing off their degeneracy in public and you wonder why people think furries are freaks that are interested in only sexual shit.

The same can be said for so many other fandoms & communities. The only reason I say ‘it’s just the way the world is’, is because what are you going to do tbh. Like you said, a lot of these things are normalized and accepted. no matter how much you expose these things, in a few months it’ll go back to being the same exact cycle. the best you can do is guide minors away from this and a lot of times you really cant do that.. children are curious and curiosity kills the cat. it’s fucking sad

There were rumors I heard about Dragoneer allowing select minors join FA and upload porn if he liked their artwork enough and commissioned them as well. I hadn't seen any solid proof although it sounds like absolutely he'd do that. I reckon if true, it's probably all or mostly deleted or swept up.
