Initial thoughts from watching the Ronaldo interviews (just finished)

There wasn't much here I wasn't expecting. I expected him to say some things were not as they seemed publicly behind closed doors. After finding out the Barca and PSG hire social media teams to say bad things about players online, I could definitely see United leaking things to the press to hurt Ronaldo. I don't think Ronaldo helped himself at all with countering this. I don't know if Ronaldo knew he was playing this game or not, but this interview seemed like it was him basically giving up and admitting he lost the game.

A lot of this was fluff. Granted, I can see why he went to piers morgan. This interview had piers nearly drooling down Ronaldo's dick and balls all the way to his waxxed butthole. I guess it had to be done to get the interview but it makes watching the full interview awful. And it sucks that the full interview is awful because the clips and media commentary is going to be fully taken out of context.

I think a lot of what he said was true. In part 1, he brought up nearly going to City. I remember the transfer saga with City. There was real desire to go there from both parties. Cities front line was fucking terrible and they needed someone who could just stand in front of the goal and score. So when City came out and said they had absolutely no interest in him, it made me realize that there are a lot more truthful things being said here than what I initially thought.

Most of this has been said before. When he talked about the Glasers and the board at United not caring about the sport and only interested in the profit, this was said by a lot of ex players, including Ibra. So him coming out to say this shouldn't be seen as a surprise by anyone.

What will come of this? My theory is that Ronaldo wasn't able to play the game with the press. He had too much of an ego to sit by and cheer on everyone else while secretly working to leave the club. I don't know if he has ever had to play this kind of game before and it really caught him off guard. I think he might have had a chance to go to a lower team that could compete but financially it wouldn't work. I think United might have wanted some money and the financial situation looking at things was just too much for some clubs to even attempt. I think Ronaldo might be thinking this is a way to completely eliminate his contract and go into January with a fresh start. Also, this is probably the best time for him to get onto a club looking to win. Nobody is going to think about signing Ronaldo in the summer when they are thinking about putting a team together. But when a team is trying to make a push for *something* competitive, January doesn't give a lot of good options. Ronaldo might actually be able to sneak his way into a squad as a free agent and an ability to properly negotiate a contract.

@Hüftpriester I don't think he wants to become a life guru. I think he wants to go around being paid to give speeches at events. That's what his broken english sounded like to me

It might be overly optimistic but I see some real cow potential here.
- He's combative with the press.
- He endorses and associates with Jordan Peterson, which could potentially cause problems down the road.
- Morgan is right, he's probably the most famous person in the world. He has a cult of personality around him that isn't going anywhere after he retires.
- Many of his fanboys are highly impressionable. If Ronaldo gets political at some point in the future, his relationship with the press could reach levels he previously thought impossible. And that could be very interesting.

Him hating the press and constantly attacking them probably saves him from being a cow

The Qatari security forces better be ready to fight European ultras, Argentinian Barras bravas, and every other supporter group known to man. Russia/Ukraine might not hold a candle to potential Street violence we may see in Qatar.
A great move by the world cup would be to have all these retards band together and fight off the Qatari security forces. Force them back and realize the only way to counter them is to give them beer and by the round of 16, everyone is drunk again screaming about the game

Ecuador are the team in that group that Qatar have the best chance of realistically beating anyway. Save the bribe for Senegal, dudes. Netherlands would be too obvious.

idk, Senegal seem like the easy team to beat now that Mane is ruled out of the world cup. I kinda wished the bribe story was about Qatar and Senegal and Mane's leg injury news came out after he was treated in Qatar. Would be way funnier

They banned alcohol sales at Qatar. They forced Brazil to change their laws in 2014 and now they are banning it in 2022 for Qatar.

Worst. World Cup. Ever
Its only banned in-stadium, fanzones and hotels still can serve £12 beer with a 4 drink daily limit

And if you're in the executive suites of the stadium, booze is suddenly fine again because FIFA frankly doesn't even bother with the mask. Only way it gets better is if Henderson gets chased out of the country for being a poof

With less than 24 hours until the first match, I'd find it fucking hilarious if there's an urgent message for homosexuals and women to reconsider entering the stadium after they've already bought their tickets.

Chill. Infantino did a press conference yesterday where he declared he feels like an Arab, a Quatari, a faggot, a migrant worker, a potato, a woman and said he knows how racism feels bc as a kid he had red hair and freckles.
Everyone will be welcome.

I still remember that world cup in Brazil vs. Germany as if it were recent.

(I remember Google made a big deal of it.)
