I am guessing he was a target of theirs before Southampton bought him and continued to develop while in England which triggered this.
You're right, according to what I've been reading he was a target of Giuntoli from when he was with Napoli. This signing looks like a power move of sorts, as Juve were linked with a 35 year old midfielder from Fiorentina last week. By signing an unknown younger player instead, Giuntoli is showing he has more influence than Allegri, who always prefers experienced players. There's a place Max can go if he wants to manage washed up players and it's called the Saudi league.

We had the first two quarter finals of DFB cup.

St. Pauli lost to Fortuna Düsseldorf 3:4 after penalties and Hertha BSC lost to Kaiserslautern 1:3. Was actually rooting for Hertha this time bc it would have been one great story if they would have made it to the finals after the sudden death of their president and the final happening in Hertha's home stadion but it is what it is.

Next week are the other two quarter finals, Leverkusen vs Stuttgart and Mönchengladbach vs Saarbrücken. Next weekend we also see Leverkusen vs Bayern.

Glass half full for you guys here. Allegri doesn't have control over the future. He is just trying to guide you guys to Champions League and then ride off into the sunset

It would take such a colossal fuck up to miss Champions League at this stage. 18 points clear of 5th with 16 games left, and most of Serie A looking very poor this season. The derby d'Italia is Sunday, I predict a draw but I think Juve can win if they go for it.

But yeah, Juve is an attractive project for the next manager, I actually wouldn't mind Allegri finishing his contract if Klopp is only taking a one year sabbatical. Most of the key players are still very young. I'm feeling another run of domestic titles coming soon but with the right coach, I think we can win in Europe too. Juve were unlucky in the 2010s, we made 2 finals: one against prime MSN Barca and the other against prime CR7-Modric-Kroos Madrid. There's no shame in losing to those teams but we haven't won the Champions League since 1996. I was too young to remember.

Oh No Messi bros

I heard that Lazio put in 3 bids for Championship players and had them all rejected 😂. The Championship pipeline is clearly through bottom table English teams who take all the risk for little reward. We might see some form of the Super League one day soon I guess.

I think you gotta get a new coach now. Can't let Allegri sit around. If you don't win a Champions League now, then the next few super teams will come in and keep anyone from winning. Real Madrid will be that team in a few years, maybe PSG get their shit together to develop a system, Bayern get rid of Tuchel and have someone decide to make tough decisions to bring them back to relevance, and the next English team or 2 emerge.

Might as well forfeit the MLS season now

Big lols at West Ham cocking up two deadline transfers for Benrahma and Fornals by not completing paperwork, Lyon are seething hard
Did Lyon need the transfers for something? Last I checked, they are in a relegation battle

Were they underballing the teams? It seems like a terrible time to try and grab players at a fair price. January window is where you take a risk and over pay for players to make a push. Last I checked, English teams tend to do that to other European teams, not the other way around

West Ham are tards for fucking it up. Lyon are tards for leaving it late enough that there was no time to fix it if something went wrong.

Also stumbled across this earlier. Oh how the mighty are fallen:

I'm surprised that none of you guys talked about this because this is a good ole time when it comes to making fun of burgers trying to understand football.
CBS Sports got the rights to broadcast the Asian Cup. There aren't many comments about their actual match coverage, it's ok. What got them in hot water was an episode of their show Morning Footy since the hosts didn't know basic AFC history and the production crew was unwilling or uncaring to give them the facts after implying that Iraq's win over Japan was the 'biggest victory in their history' among a plethora of other basic shit they didn't know that is almost insulting.
Maqwell in case you didn't know is also a burger but one that knows his shit. Makes good videos but be warned, he's still a burger and you'll notice in his video essays talking about recent-ish teams although he doesn't breathe his own farts like Alfie from HITC Sevens.

Iraq won the fucking tournament in 2007 lol

Really had to stop watching HITC Sevens videos. It's one thing to position yourself when it's about politics (like Maqwell sometimes does) but Alfie has reached whole new levels of smugness and fart snuffing unknown to mankind. Which is a shame bc he actually does good research and covers niche topics.

God his videos became so unbearable. Like dude, you are reading in front of a powerpoint with some research attached to it. I can read the fucking wiki too if I wanted to, get to the fucking point. 8 minutes of content stretch to an hour length

His delivery makes me want to sperg out. He emphasises the wrong words as if he’s never heard human speech before.

Rabona TV and tifo football are the only 2 channels I will bother to click on if they pop up in my feed. And only if the videos are interesting. Everyone else is just annoying faggots

Its finally happened
