Difference is Klopp's leaving a decent team behind with space to grow, Fergie left a squad that was basically squeezed out and was finished. I do think they'll struggle to get as good of a manager for the club on and off the pitch for a long time
Oh yeah, its not the exact situation. But its on the same level of impact to the club. Klopp pretty much ran everything at the club so now you need to go out and find that manager. And you gotta find him pretty quick because summer transfer window is going to be important

Fab confirmed too that their director and coaching staff is leaving too, so looks like they'll need a complete overhaul in the summer.

Most comments I've seen have been pointing at wanting Xabi Alonso to take over since he's doing so well at Leverkusen. Kind of makes sense given his history with Liverpool but part of me wants Gerrard to swoop in and get it for the banter.

I hope Xabi Alonso actually takes the job. I think with him and Arteta in the prem, along with Pep leaving soon and City (hopefully) getting royally fucked it would be a fun premier league. United will still be shit and Chelsea won't have their shit together so you have Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle, and then a host of this mid table teams that can bounce in and out depending on how solid they are built like Villa, West Ham, Brighton, Brentford, etc. The top 4 in that scenario aren't solidly top 4 every year and the teams coming up are always a season away from being in a relegation battle (hello fulham). England might not be super competitive in Europe but the league would be interesting.

It would also be great because Real Madrid would have to do more to pry Xabi Alonso from Liverpool than from Leverkusen and they fucking deserve it for not solidifying their future plans with regards to Ancelloti and Mbappe

RabonaTV has published a video on the bounce back season of Juventus. If any of you decide to watch it, be advised that his guest is a literal paid shill for the club. For some reason this is not disclosed.

It's a pretty good video but obviously a bit of a puff piece. Juve are definitely much improved this year but this is still a team that prefers to sit back and defend. They've been suffering through much of the season, winning 1-0 against inferior competition often on late goals. It's only been the past month since the emergence of Yildiz that they've been able to win some games comfortably. But they are still a shit team to watch and will be until Allegri decides to walk away. It's all so tiresome.

I like his videos. I always assume the people he interviews are paid shills for the club but they would give a little more insight to the club's situation than other videos made by some dude who is just reading wiki articles and scouring for like a quick write up about something. Someone who can give a break down from how they are seeing things or how the club are seeing things is cool to put in videos.

I like the channel too but he always brings the same guy on when Juventus is the topic of discussion. He should disclose the guy works for Juve. They were talking about how Allegri has changed his tactics this year but that's not true. It's the same as the past few seasons, the only difference is he's being bailed out by special players now more often than not.

Yesterday was a good example of Allegri's hubris. He inexplicably benches Yildiz and his replacement (Milik) gets sent off like 15 minutes into the match, lmao. The result was Juve dropping points against a relegation side when they're in a title race and Allegri going back to talking about how we're 15 points ahead of 5th place.

I am gonna glass half full you here and just say he was resting his most important player before playing Inter next week. But yeah, Allegri needs to just keep Juve in champions league before leaving on his little high and never managing again

West Brom vs Wolves FA cup match had to be delayed for 35 minutes due to fighting. Fans of Wolves apparently were inside the West Brom end fighting, don't know anymore right now
Wolves in West Brom end celebrated 2nd goal, baggies kick off and ruckus ensues. One scrap was near players families iirc hence why some players were near it.

Get ready for months of fingerwagging about hooliganism. At least it stole the thunder of the inevitable Klopp love-in we're getting for the next 5 months

I was just listening to his post match comments and they were infuriating. He said he rested Yildiz to give him a mental break, implied that the success is getting to his head and that he had a bad performance against Lecce (he was a key player against Lecce). This man never grows tired of insulting the supporters, I fucking hate him lol.

Xavi is stepping down at the end of the year. He is apparently forgoing the rest of his contract to try and help Barca's financial situation but its not going to do much. I can say at this point, I am not longer a Barca fan. I started out as an Arsenal fan, got over the 2006 champions league through Ronaldinho and then the 2008 team that Pep started through 2015 with Suarez, Messi, and Neymar up top. Iniesta was my favorite player of all time, due to how he played midfield. But after seeing how this club is being handled and how they are just doing everything they can to ruin the club's future by trying to win now, I can't honestly support this team anymore

Everton's appeal against their point deduction starts on Wednesday, decision expected in a couple of weeks.

EDIT*

We had more Afcon kino today as Africa's #1 ranked team Morocco was knocked out by the number #12 ranked South Africa.

We also got some Asia Cup kino as Worst Korea were almost eliminated by Saudi Arabia, after conceding 30 odd seconds into the start of the second half, and not equalizing until eight and a half minutes (out of ten) of stoppage time. It went to penalties where they won 4-2 after a couple of great saves. Also there was a fantastic shot of Saudi manager Mancini walking off down the tunnel partway through the shoot-out because he was too much of a bitch to watch.

Anybody know this player? Buy option is pretty high, so I figure he must have some good potential at least.

Never heard of him but I've just had a look at his stats. 3 goals and 1 assist in 23 games in the Championship, but he's a 21 year old Argentine so maybe Juve see potential in that. He also signed a new five-year contract in October last year so that might factor into the higher buy option.

At least it stole the thunder of the inevitable Klopp love-in we're getting for the next 5 months
Fucking hell you're right and I'll despise every second of it. If there's anything that football media likes to do it's to bleat on about how special Liverpool are and how perfect Klopp is. 2024/25 will be fun to see how they manage the inevitable self-implosion.

I am guessing he was a target of theirs before Southampton bought him and continued to develop while in England which triggered this. He was playing for Racing in Argentina at like 16/17 years old and he scored the goal that triggered that massive brawl between Racing and Boca that got a cup match final abandoned. He has also been called up to Argentina once back in October but didn't play. Should be an interesting project for you guys
