In all seriousness though that contract Mbappe has is horrendous, no individual player should be given that much power over decisions at the club, if contracts like that start becoming more common then the game will be well and truly done for in the higher divisions.

What's special about his contract?

Leeds seemingly turned down season mode settings to semi-pro to handle Brentford today. What a dire performance from the Bee's. I guess this is the point of no return for Burnley with all the debt they've inherited. Championship is once again becoming the primary hub for midlands football.

Essentially he can:
- Decide who gets to be the coach
- Gets a say on who will be the sporting director
- Can approve signings and sales

Roles meant to be for other specialists that he's just allowed to partake in now.
Got a good source for any of that bar TalkSport tier trash that are making up stupid stories now they can't run "Mbappe to Madrid" stories anymore?

Man we're never lifting this Brighton curse, even without Glenn Murray they still thump us

Big luls at city letting the scousers have hope before tearing it away

Between that performance and them beating Chelsea 4-1 earlier on in the season Brentford are fucking trolls and I love them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, United really shit the bed by not bringing in Antonio Conte when they had the chance. The guy is a winner and would've whipped that overpaid squad into shape by any means necessary. Instead they let him go to Spurs and the results speak for themselves. On paper, United has a better squad than Spurs. Yet Spurs will be playing champions league football next season while United is lucky to be in Europa league.

While Real Madrid and Spain were being salty about Mbappe football Germany had it's own meltdown. On Saturday RaBa Leipzig (or as you may know them as RB Leipzig and FC Leipzig in Champions League) won the DFB cup against SC Freiburg. Everyone, literally everyone was cheering for Freiburg as Leipzig is truely hated here because of it's pure existence and history.

How did Leipzig answer to all the heat after winning the cup?

raba.JPG
They posted a picture of one of their players puring Red Bull into the cup which sent online football Germany further into rage. Leipzig add more fuel by choosing the one player for the picture who was sent of with a red card after he had been substituted and insulting the refs and Freiburg players on the pitch. On Instagram they posted the picture and with it they add a link to their online store where fans can purchase the new designed Red Bull energy drink cans they printed just for this event.

Usually there would be way more comments on likes but as soon as the picture was posted non-Leipzig fans called for non-action and to not engage with Leipzig's social media accounts.

Also usually every other club (or most of them) wishes congrats to the winner but this time only one club decided to congratulate the winner - and of course it was TSG Hoffenheim, another highly hated German football club. Even politicians from the city of Leipzig were very reluctant to congratulate RaBa Leipzig.

Utterly based shithousery

Villa's been moving quick, Coutinho made permanent and now Boubacar Kamara for free, all before the season has officially ended

The shithousery continues. You may have read my previous post about Borussia Dortmund kicking their coach Marco Rose a few days ago.

Breaking news: Dortmund hired Edin Terzic again.

Edin Terzic was a former co-coach during the 2019/20 season. After Dortmund kicked out Lucien Favre Terzic became head coach for the second part of the season. The first half of the season Dortmund was struggling a lot but under Terzic's lead they ranked 4th in Bundesliga in the end which means they could participate in the following Champions League season.
Also Terzic lead Dortmund to it's 5th DFB Cup win.

Dortmund sacked a succesfull coach for another coach for whom Dortmund payed around 7.000.000€ and whom they sacked after just one season just to bring back the former coach.

That's the club everyone expects to dethrone FC Bayern München.

So if you want a look back at what I am referencing (couldn't quote it) its This post here
But I figured I would give a little recap as to the big 5 leagues and what happened over deadline day in case anyone was wondering (and totally not my autistic need to finish up this post)

Germany
Sorry to have missed the Pokal when talking about the round up. Freiberg should have won since they were up a goal and then up a man for most of the game. Yet Nkumku was still as deadly as ever and found a goal that took it to extra time. Freiberg hit the woodwork twice, Leipzig got another red and a clear penalty not called for them. But Freiberg missed and hit the woodwork in penalties to give Leipzig the Pokal trophy. @Atomkrieg gave a good round up with the pokal and the aftermath
In Berlin, Hamburger SV grabbed a 1-0 lead on Friday and was taking that back to Hamburg with them for a game that ended today. Todays game was a complete shit show as they gave up 2 unanswered goals for Berlin to win 2-0. So Hertha Berlin will still be in the Bundesliga next season and Hamburger SV need to wait another year to make it back to the top flight in Germany

France
In Ligue 1, you can look at the post to see what was on the line for these teams but here are the important results and what it meant for the final table
Bordeaux 4 - Brest 2 - Bordeaux did what they could to try and get to the playoff spot for relegation but they needed way too much to go their way in order to survive and unfortunately not everything did go their way
Lens 2 - Monaco 2 - Lens had a chance to push for a European spot but needed to win in order to do that. Monaco needed to match Marseille's result in order to be in the group stage of the Champions League next season instead of the qualifiers and a tie was not the result they needed
Marseille 4 - Strasbourg 0 - Like Lens, Strasbourg were on the outside looking in on a European spot. They were just down goal differential with Nice so a strong win might have helped but instead dropped by 4 goals to ensure they didn't get into Europe. Marseille knew going in that they not only needed match or do better than Monaco's result but also make up a 4 goal differential to get guaranteed group stage in the champions league. They did just that
Metz 0 - PSG 5 - PSG celebrated Di Maria leaving and Mbappe staying by putting 5 past Metz, who were in the relegation playoff spot. That was probably the worst thing for Metz if they were looking to survive. Results elsewhere were not kind and Metz confirmed their relegation along with Bordeaux
Lille 2 - Rennes 2 - Rennes had a 2 point lead for the Europa League on Nice and were 3 points back from a potential Champions League spot. A draw did them no favors in going to Champions League, but their massive GD meant that their spot in the Europa League was confirmed
St Etienne 1 - Nantes 1 - St Etienne was tied on points with Metz but had a worse GD. But with a point here and Metz not getting any points it allowed St Etienne to sneak past both Metz (with a better GD) and Bordeaux (with a worse GD) and put their fate for Ligue 1 in their own hands with a playoff.
Reims 2 - Nice 3 - Nice were trying to hold off Strasbourg and Lens for a spot in Europe along with potentially getting into Europa League instead of the Europa Conference with todays results. Unfortunately for them, Rennes tied so they couldn't get into Europa League. But they were able to secure a spot in Europe with a win (even though Marseille helped them by beating Strasbourg by 4 goals).
So PSG and Marseille are in the Champions League group stage, Monaco are in Champions League qualifiers, Rennes is in Europa League, Nice are in the Europa Conference, St Etienne is in the relegation playoffs, and Metz and Bordeaux are relegated

Italy
Still can't believe Italy doesn't try and pick out a time to play all their games to make some league wide drama. So the results are as such
(Monday Results that I couldn't wait on)
Sampadoria 4 - Fiorentina 1 - Fiorentina missed out on a chance to go ahead of Roma for a spot in Europa League and made their final match much more important if they wanted to be in Europe
Lazio 2 - Juve 2 - Didn't matter for Juve as they were finishing 4th. Lazio were guaranteed to be in Europa League after the result and the Fiorentina loss.
Final Day
Roma 3 - Torino 0 - This basically sealed up the top 6 spots and most of the European competitions. Why it was played on a Friday while other games were played on other days baffles me since the drama then came down to top and bottom of the table. Roma sealed their spot in Europa league and only Fiorentina and Atalanta games mattered for Europe
Fiorentina 2 - Juve 0 - Juve were already set in their spot so they didn't have anything to really play for while Fiorentina needed a win to hold off Atalanta since they bottled it against Sampadoria on Monday. Fiorentina get the last European place from Serie A with this win
Atalanta 0 - Empoli 1 - Speaking of bottling it, Atalanta could have still pushed for a European spot with a win and instead lost to Empoli, who had literally jack shit to play for.
Lazio 3 - Verona 3 - Lazio already had Europa League set. This just confirmed that they finished higher than Roma so that is something
Inter 3 - Sampadoria 0 - Inter fought to the end for the Scudetto and made sure Milan won their game if they were going to take the title for the first time in 11 years.
Sassuolo 0 - Milan 3 - And Milan won their game to make sure they didn't back into the final day to win the title. Ibra's speech afterwards and him walking around with a cigar are the most notable things about this game. The Milan team is young, and if they can continue to mature then they might be the new Italian threat in Europe (assuming they can hold on to these players)
Venezia 0 - Cagliari 0 - Venezia were dominate early and looked like they might actually beat Cagliari. Then Cagliari remembered they had to win this game to survive and took control of the game. But the lack of finishing from both sides showed why both sides are getting relegated
Salernitana 0 - Udinesse 4 - Salernitana backed their way into staying up thanks to Venezia but man they looked awful. Granted, this club was a complete disaster and I think had 8 points at the start of the calendar year so this was a great escape (literally). So while celebrating after being beaten 4-0 looks bad, the season was a success
So Milan, Inter, Napoli, and Juve are in Champions League next year, Roma and Lazio are in Europa League, Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League, and then Cagliari, Genoa, and Venezia are relegated

Spain -
Most of the top was already settled and Spain decided to copy Italy instead of France and England so no real excitement all at once. No changes at the top of the table so it went Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico, and Sevilla for the top 4 spots. But some interesting results happened so lets see
Real Madrid 0 - Real Betis 0 - Betis could have potentially pushed for a Champions League spot at Sevilla's expense but this tie basically confirmed the Champions League places.
Elche 3 - Getafe 1 - Getafe weren't mathematically safe going into today but had an insane GD that any team that caught them would have had match fixing allegations immediately. Elche were in the best spot to avoid relegation going into the day and won so they remain in La Liga
Cadiz 1 - Alavez 0 - Alavez were already relegated so Cadiz had more to play for and got an important goal to secure the win. This put Cadiz up to 39 points and needing a little help to avoid relegation
Granada 0 - Espanyol 0 - Granada were a point out of the relegation zone so this draw did not help them out as much as they might have thought. Teams in the relegation zone could now win and jump over them which is not what you want to have happen
Osasuna 0 - Mallorca 2 - Osasuna had a top 10 finish this season so caring about this game wasn't something they were up for apparently. Mallorca were out of the relegation zone on a tie breaker that wasn't GD so they needed a win and some help. They got both
Villareal 2 - Barca 0 -Barca didn't care for this game and Villareal had a 1 point lead over Athletic Club for the final spot in Europe so they needed this win. They got it and turns out didn't really need it
Sevilla 1 - Athletic Club 0 - Sevilla did have a possibility of losing out on Champions League with a bad result here so this win helped although Betis tied before them so they didn't really have to play hard. But they could have also finished 3rd if Atletico slipped up so that probably had serious financial incentives for the players. Athletic Club's loss ensured they missed out on Europe.
Real Madrid, Barca, Atletico, and Sevilla will be in Champions League next year. Real Betis and Sociedad will be in the Europa League while Villareal will be in the Europa Conference League. Alavez, Levante, and with that draw, Granada will be relegated this year.

England
Everyone knows how this ended right? So this is just my autism showing
Arsenal 5 - Everton 1 - Needed to win and have Norwich somehow pull a draw or win. That Newcastle loss sealed Arsenal's fate and this was just a formality
Tottenham 5 - Norwich 0 - Tottenham had Champions League in their own fate and took full advantage. Norwich were reminded that they are a team that bounces back and forth with this brutal beatdown in their own backyard
Liverpool 3 - Wolves 1 - Liverpool left it late and you have to wonder, if Liverpool had a lead early on in this game, would the City result be different? It sucks for Liverpool to have 92 points and lose the league. I don't think Fergie ever got more than 91 points when he won the league (could be wrong)
City 3 - Villa 2 - The #narrative almost came true. I thought it would be true after Cash scored the first (lol how funny would it have been if Cash was the reason City lost the title) and Coutinho got the second of all people. But City came back with 3 quick goals to avoid another Aguero situation because they don't have that kind of striker right now
Brentford 1 - Leeds 2 - Told ya, this game meant something to Leeds and they needed points from both Brighton and Brentford to stay up. Leeds tied Brighton and got a huge win here to avoid relegation. I hope to see more Ted Lasso's in the premier league soon after this magnificent escape
Newcastle 2 - Burnley 1 - Anti football is going back to where it belongs. Sucks for Burnley, firing their cult figure in Sean Dyche to try and avoid relegation only to get relegated. I wonder if there is anything in the back room that will leak as to another reason for Dyche being let go because otherwise, thats just a terrible move. Burnley might struggle to return now
City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham in the Champions League. Arsenal and United are in the Europa league. West Ham are in the Europa Conference League. Burnley, Watford, and Norwich are relegated.

We have the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday between Feyenoord and Roma. Huddersfield vs Nottingham on Sunday for a spot in the EPL, League One already played their final for some stupid reason. Mansfield Town and Port Vale play for the last spot in League One. Final game for the Conference League is tomorrow before their playoffs start for getting into League Two

Idk how much some of you care about kits but I've just gone through all of the kits that have been leaked so far from the top 5 leagues on footyheadlines and so far the vast majority of what's out there is pure dogshit. Real Madrid probably have the best of the lot with their home strip. Arsenal and United also possess a couple of the limited amount of decent kits so far with their home kits but that isn't saying much. And if you really want to discuss dogshit, take a look at Inter's home kit for next season. You'd think they got relegated to Serie B going around wearing shit like that.

22/23 season shaping up to be an eyesore for kit lovers.

Germany is in between a rock and a hard place. Leipzig is the only club capable of dethroning Bayern

Not sure if I can agree on that.

Here is a recap of Dortmund's last seasons:

2010/11 & 2011/12: 1st place
2012/13 & 2013/14: 2nd place
2014/15 was kind of a bummer as they only placed 7th

2015/16: 2nd
In that season Dortmund made 78 points which in a "normal" season would be enough to win Bundesliga. But Bayern went berserk and scored 88 points. Out of 34 games Bayern won 28 and only lost 2 games.
Like this year Bayern won Bundesliga with 77 points. Ok, to be fair, they gave away their last three games after it was clear that they can't loose 1st place anymore.
Last year Bayern won Bundesliga with 78 points.

2016/17: 3rd
2017/18: 4th

2018/19: 2nd
That was a close finish as Dortmund scored 76 and Bayern scored 78 points. Again, Dortmund scored that much points that would be enough to win Bundesliga but yet it wasn't enough. So even if Dortmund plays kind of an extraordinary season they will get beaten by Bayern.

2019/20: 2nd
2020/21: 3rd
2021/22: 2nd

The issue with Dortmund is not financially but:

1) The defence is not good enough.
In their last two winning seasons Dortmund only got 22/25 goals. But since then their defence has declined. Since their last championship in 2011/12 they always get 40+ goals. Only in two seasons their defence was better; one with 32 and one with 38 goals.
Otto Rehhagel, the one who UEFA Euro 2004 with fucking Greece, said it best: "Titel werden in der Verteidigung gewonnen." (A good defence wins you trophies).
The defence is like the fundament of a house. Crumbles the fundament of your house your house will go down. It's inevitable. Your fundament has to be rock solid.

2) Too many injuries.
Self-explanory.

3) The mentality.
In Germany we speak about the so called "Bayern-Mentalität" (Bayern mentality). These guys want to win e v e r y t h i n g. They start every season, every tournament with everyone stating "We are going to win this.".
You don't hear this from Dortmund. They are like "Yeah, you know, we are happy if place 2nd" or "Well, our aim for this season is to qualify for Champions League". Everyone is kissing Bayern's ass and bowing down to them. We have not a single team that doesn't give a fuck and challenges Bayern like "Fuck them, this year we are going to win."

There is one single moment from a Bayern game to describe what I try explain.
In the 2000/2001 season Schalke 04 nearly won Bundesliga. It was the last game day of the season. Schalke needed to win their last game to be safe while Bayern to play draw because Schalke had the better goal difference. Bayern needed to win no matter what Schalke did.
Schalke was playing a home game against SpVgg Unterhaching who were fighting relegation to 2. Bundesliga, Bayern was playing in Hamburg against HSV.
Unterhaching was taking the lead with 1:2 until Schalke started their rampage and won the game 5:3. The game in Schalke ended and everyone started celebrating. Fans were rushing on the pit. Everyone went nuts. But the game in Hamburg was still going on for a few minutes of extra time.
Hamburg scored the 1:0 in the 90th minute which meant Schalke would have won the championship. After Hamburg scored all the Bayern players were broken and shocked. All of them but one, legendary Oliver Kahn, then goalkeeper of Bayern. He stormed out of his goal, grabbed one of his fellow players by the neck, yelled at him to move the f on and the championship isn't lost yet. What happened? Bayern scored the important 1:1 in the 94th minute and thus won the championship.
This moment transcendes this special kind of winner mentality and mindset that Dortmund hasn't. I couldn't remember such a powerful moment from any Dortmund game ever.
A few days later Bayern won the Champions League.

4) Not winning against the big clubs/Losing to small clubs -> Consistency
Dortmund needs to get their shit together. Because either they can't win the big games against Bayern, Leipzig, Leverkusen or they do get a lot of points out of these big games but lose tomany games against the smaller/weaker clubs like Augsburg, Bochum, Bielefeld, etc.

5) Every season Bayern has a time frame where they start to struggle and lose games they usually wouldn't lose or score unnecessary draws. Usually it's before the end of the first half of the season or during the spring. Where is Dortmund during these time frames? They start struggling too. I don't know if it's out of some weird sort of solidarity to Bayern or if they just don't want to win but they never use these periods of Bayern's weakness.

And then there is the last point: 6) Conspiracy against Dortmund
Like every time Dortmund faces Bayern you can bet money on the game of having at least one moment where the refs go whacko and rule in favour of Bayern. Penalties not given for Dortmund, penalties given for Bayern, a Bayern player not being sent of the pit for murdering a Dortmund player, Dortmund scoring an important goal while being offside while actually not being offside, etc.
Of course I am not 100% totally serious here but there is something going on. Maybe some sort of Bayern Munich black magic vodoo witchcraft on the refs.

Dortmund has everything that it needs. The money, the knowledge, the players, the management, the fan base, the past victories and trophies. They just need to stop clownerey and get their shit together.

Let's take a lot at Leipzig's Bundesliga seasons so far.

2016/17: 2nd (That was Leipzig's first Bundesliga season.)
2017/18: 6th
2018/19: 3rd
2019/20: 3rd
2020/21: 2nd
2021/22: 4th
So Leipzig is definitely a strong contender for challenging Bayern. They have the financial back up and they know how to put a team together of young and skilled players. But honestly I would like to see to win every other club to win our championship instead of that Red Bull marketing tool that want's to be football club.

guys I need advice:
How do i pick a futbol team to follow, i follow a poplar sport in my area and the only reason i follow the team, that i follow is becasue my family follows it, but none of my family follows any futball team. so how would i pick a team to follow?
