5am? I still remember watching Argentina Nigeria at 2am back in Japan/Korea 2002, world cups in Asia are the worst.

Do you guys play match predictions at work or with a group of friends (PRODE)? I'm still high in the rankings but my predictions are very safe and I don't think I'll be winning this WC.

US Soccer needs to put its foot down and demand that no more than 2 MLS players are allowed on these 26 man rosters because that was dog shit. And Berhalter needs to stop taking inspiration from fucking Southgate and start attacking. If I see our center forward defending at the top of our box again when we have a 1-0 lead, I am gonna fly to Qatar and inform the police that he is a trans gay man so this can stop

That was a pretty poor display from Argentina in the first half. I guess credit to Saudi Arabia, they pressed well. But I'm starting to regret waking up for this. I hope Argentina changes their shape and takes that manlet papu gomez off in the second half.

EDIT: not even 15 minutes into the 2nd half and Saudi Arabia has scored two quick goals :story: and what a goal for the second one.

Argentina does not look like a team that's unbeaten in 35 games or whatever it is.

A Saudi defender just took a knee to the face from his own keeper in stoppage time. That shit looked painful, what a champ
 
Grug's tactics and substitutions played a major part in the 2nd half. At this point though I'm used to the Morris, Yedlin, Acosta auto-substitutions. Why bring on possession capable players when you can toss on the MLS players. Acosta had one or two of his usual brain fart moments in the middle half, giving the ball away. Morris ran fast. Yedlin flubbed all of his crosses but didn't make any defensive mistakes. Some of this result is on the players as well but LDLT, Aaronson, Ferreira, Reyna were made to be subs and get the possession back. Grug's 2 dimensional thinking is only he run guud and he defend guud.

They had a chance to win, which is tough to do when the US can't seem to get anything going in the final 3rd. So now its goal differential and I can see Wales just edging the US. They don't seem to have the same allergic reaction the US does whenever they get within sight of the goal.

I also didn't predict Argentina would be Germany circa 2018 or Italy in whatever WC they went out in 3 despite being favorites. Messi flubbing a free kick, gee I haven't seen that a million times. This is one for the history books.
