So no surprises today.

Every game was a close call but tbh I expected this for all of the four games today.

Quite a bit disappointed from Argentina - Mexico. Expected it to be a really heated game bc of their rivalry and for what was on the line. I really expected the Mexicans to be highly motived to fuck Argentina out of the tournament. Imagine you could hew your name into the books of football history for sending Messi the G.O.A.T. home from a world cup after just 2 matches and it's very likely his last WC.
Very disappointing, Mexico, very disappointing.

The 2:0 for Argentina was masterclass.
I think Mexico has beaten Argentina once in the past 19 matches and haven't beated them ever in the World Cup. They came out with a back 5 and had 3 defensive mids in front of them with Vega and Lozano just left up top to do something if possible. They were never looking to win this game. As soon as Messi's goal went in, the game was pretty much over. That wonder strike from Fernandez basically just sealed the game. Honestly pretty pathetic from Mexico. 2 games and 0 goals from them

Yeah, but my counter argument is Saudi-Arabia.

The Saudis caught Argentina off guard twice and it was enough to win. So just one moment, this one lucky moment, was all Mexico needed. Get a lucky punch and park the bus while you break bones -especially Messi's bones- and tadaaaa 1:0 victory, Argentina cries and we lol.

But as you said. Mexico was never a threat for them and it was just a matter of time when Argenitina will score a goal. And as soon as it was 1:0 Argentina it was over bc someone would have had to made a deal with the devil to have Argentina to fuck up two WC games in a row after leading in both of them. Not gonna happen.

English and Welsh fans apparently got into a fight at the Revolution Bar in Tenerife, Canary Islands
England and Wales fans fight in Tenerife (WC Qatar 2022).mp4

I have to imagine Poland are fucked now. There isn't a chance in hell that Poland will be able to stop this team and Argentina probably don't want to face France again in the round of 16. I think a win puts them top of their group

Danish fans losing their shit because Ellyes Skhiri fell over the ref’s foot in the buildup to Australia’s goal against Tunisia is hilarious.
Idk why the Danish fans care. They had to win this game one way or the other. I do know it is harder now since Australia just have to draw but still, you gotta win. A lot of teams wish for this scenario

"Everyone back to their countries and give us our ball back"

Pretty interesting behind the scenes video of Saudi Arabia's win against Argentina

Most Arabs and Iranians do not like the Ottomans as well in general.
Uh, it is not a strong sentiment nor wide spread.

Give us some please.

All the blame is on the Japanese manager, opting for the Southgate route of playing it safe when you have qualification on lock. Rather than fielding his best players that resulted in the win over Germany, he opt to field the B team and make no notable tactical changes. Against a once demoralized Costa Rica. Japan will now have to pray for a draw or better against Spain, assuming Germany tonight suffer defeat.

Helps that a lot of the players rising up the ranks for Canada have multiple choices for international representation. Davies, the goal scorer could have picked between four home nations for representation for example.
