Napoli is a weird case this season. They look terrible, even though they only lost 1 key player during the summer. I would argue that losing Spalletti was the real loss. He's such a great coach, I'm calm even with Italy being in the group of death at the Euros.

But you are right and a lot of #Allegriout supporters are starting to soften their position. I still think he has to go at the end of the season. Juve have the best squad in Italy imo and there's no reason to play a back 5 against mid table teams. His player selection is also baffling, as McKennie has played nearly every minute this season despite having basically no quality on the ball. It was also Allegri's brilliant idea to bring Pogba back.

Juve host Napoli this Friday, that game should be interesting.

In a perfect world Haaland gets a minor ban for his antics during/after the game, throws his toys out of the pram and signs for Real Madrid in the summer so the golden boot becomes relevant again.

I hope he has enough time to get his tactics through to the Italy team for the Euros. Would be awesome to see him get even more credit than he already has for winning the title with Napoli.

It would probably be better to keep him until the end of the season. Let him go and do a proper coach search for the squad you have. You can let Pogba go and get some youngsters in with the right coach. But if Allegri is going to get you guys in the Champions League, then stay the course. An off year that gets you guys in the Champions League is not bad

It's DFB cup time again and my boys are playing against Saarbrücken. You know, the 3rd tier club who kicked out FC Bayern last round. Saarbrücken just scored the 1:0 ...

... but thanks to the VAR it got scrubbed. Although it's one ridiculous decision and should not have happened.

Edit: 60th minute and it finally happened! Saarbrücken 1, Frankfurt 0. Fuck my life.

Edit2: 2:0. I'm pissed.

Edit:3 A Frankfurt player who got substituted in like 7 mins ago and who has is first ever appearance for Frankfurt in the cup just saw a red card. You can't make this shit up.

Tuesday's matches

FC Magdeburg - Düsseldorf 1:2
Magedburg was leading the match 1:0 until like 5 minutes before the end but the Düsseldorf turned things around.

FC Kaiserslautern - FC Nürnberg 2:0
Just a few weeks ago Kaiserslautern was in the race for relegation to 1. Bundesliga but they then went on a losing streak and are now closer to being relegated to 3rd league than to 1st league. They kicked out their coach just a few days ago. Kaiserslautern wasn't this good under their new coach but Nürnberg was dogshit.

FC Homburg - FC St. Pauli 1:4
St. Pauli is the top dog in 2. Bundesliga so everybody expected them to win and to no one's surprise they steamrolled Homburg. Homburg scored an early equalizer but that was one of these this-didnt-just.happen-goals-did-it. Pauli's goalkeeper got the ball passed from one his defenders, the pit was in a rough state bc of it's fucking winter and the ball literally jumped over the gk's foot. But besides that there was nothing to win for Homburg.

Mönchengladbach - VFL Wolfsburg 1:0
Both teams met on the weekend in 1. Bundesliga and Gladbach won. It was one dreadful match and only had some hot moments in the last 10 minutes. Game went into extra time, the dread went on but in the very last seconds Gladbach scored the 1:0.

Wednesday's matches

FC Saarbrücken - Eintracht Frankfurt
Nothing to see here. Please move on.

Bayer Leverkusen - SC Paderborn 3:1
Leverkusen was the dominating team, although Paderborn wasn't completely defenseless. But in the end Leverkusen was to big for Paderborn. Sebastian Wirtz who is crucial for Leverkusen's offense got injured.

VfB Stuttgart - Borussia Dortmund 2:0
Dortmund sucked hard. The more the game went on the more Stuttgart showcased the weakness and shittyness of Dortmund. The absolute opposite to Dortmund's match against AC Milan last week.

Hertha BSC - Hamburger SV 3:3 after overtime, 5:3 in penalties
Hamburg was the more dominant team and led 2:1 until the very last seconds but then Hertha scored the equalizer. The game went into extra time, Hamburg scored the 3:2 but Hertha once again scored the equalizer in the very last seconds.

We have now three 1st tier clubs (Stuttgart, Leverkusen, Gladbach), four 2nd tier clubs (Kaiserslautern, Düsseldorf, Hertha and St. Pauli) and one 3rd tier club (not-Frankfurt) left for the quarter finals. Only Hertha, St. Pauli and that other godforsaken club have never won the trophy before. All the other clubs have won the trophy 1-3 times but all their wins go back to at least the mid/late 90s.

Jesus Christ why wasn't this bigger news? I would have expected part of Brazil to be on fire at this point like when River Plate got relegated back in 2010



That Aston Villa win is huge. I don't think Man City are done or out of the Premier League title race but it does mean that Aston Villa are a Champions League place contender and probably a front runner. This isn't good news for Tottenham, Newcastle, and Manchester United. Arsenal also get a huge win against Luton. When I saw the fixture list after the international break, I would have been ok with dropping some points to either Brentford or Luton in exchange for beating Lens and being on top of the Champions League group. Beating Luton and Brentford is better than what I thought we could do. But now we gotta go to Aston Villa and try to get a win there. Don't need to worry about match day 6 because I will be fine with starting our U-18 team in Holland and losing 12-0

There were some people burning buses and cars in Santos city.

The final round was fucking amazing. It was great, everything went so right.

It was so fucking cool to watch 4 different matches at the same time with very important shit happening.

Oh it definitely is. As you saw in the post above, some monkey-ass fans went out in the city of Santos to wreak havoc. That burning car you see in the post above was from one of the players. I think some invaded the pitch just before the final whistle as well, but didn't cause much of a ruckus.

Santos has been dwindling in mediocrity for the last five years or so, and this is the culmination. Worst of all, they won't even qualify for next year's domestic Cup on the grounds that they didn't qualify for the State Championship playoffs. All they will have is the Paulista and Série B. What a sad fall from grace, but we all saw that coming.

As of now, the only teams that were never relegated are Flamengo and my São Paulo.

Thats insane. Do they not still have one of the greatest youth teams still? They always use to have a young talented player that would come up and dominate in Brazil before going somewhere new

They haven't revealed anybody of note since Neymar and Ganso, seriously.
Plus, they have been passed behind as the prime former of youth talents. Our most recent top young prospects came from elsewhere - Vini Jr. from Flamengo and Endrick from Palmeiras, respectively. A good portion of our top teams have been investing heavily in their youth squads, if only so they can sell them for good prices after a while.

These is nothing more in this sport that I love than a last minute goal deciding the most important event in a clubs history.

I'd say I feel bad but they had 111 years worth of experience in not getting relegated and still couldn't manage it.
