Tbf the likes of Pulisic, Josh Sargent and managers like Jesse Marsch making it to the PL and becoming more prominent in American sports culture (mostly Pulisic) will have probably spurred more kids into football. Even Messi moving to Miami probably had millions of people watching football for the first time and inspiring an upcoming generation of US talent. The women's team probably has a better chance of producing good talent, but either way I'd say there's more exposure now than there used to be.USA also doesn't really care that much about football but they have an ok team, they are never going to develop a Messi tier talent and it's very unlikely that they will win the world cup, but it's not pathetically bad like china.
China just doesn't have that. There's no notable footballing history, no icons to look up to and the Chinese football league doesn't get the traction it wants. The last notable thing I even remember them doing for foreign exposure was when Oscar moved there to join Shanghai Port.
