So I don't want to get too ahead of ourselves but the Scottish Premiership might have an interesting race that doesn't involve Rangers and Celtic. Now don't get me wrong, it involves Celtic but the other team is Aberdeen who have beaten Rangers at home, tied at Celtic park, and their only loss so far this season has come at St. Mirren (Currently 6th) so they are 3 points off Celtic in the first phase of the competition. (For those unaware, because why would you care to know, the first phase involves every team playing each other 3 times during the year before a top 6 and bottom 6 are selected. Then there would be 5 more games before a champion is decided). Unfortunately for Aberdeen, they do have to travel to Celtic park at least twice this season which could be disasterous but, if they manage to keep it really close in the second phase, that last game could be at their place and potentially have a third team win the championship. Now I may be jumping the gun here considering they have only played 12 games, the financial difference between Celtic and Rangers vs the rest of the league is equivalent to Real Madrid and Barca vs La Liga 2.
Meanwhile, in the EFL Championship, Leeds, Sunderland, and Sheffield United are all at the top of the table with 32 points and separated by GD (16, 14, and 12). Burnley in 4th is just 2 points behind which makes up the race for the instant promotion right now. The last playoff spot is currently Middlesbrough in 5th with 27 points, West Brom with 26, Watford with 26, Millwall with 24, Blackburn with 22 and a game in hand, and Bristol City in 10th with 22. Bottom of the table sits QPR with 11 points and Portsmouth with 12. The final relegation spot is currently occupied by Hull City but Cardiff and Preston have 16 points, Plymouth, Oxford, and Coventry have 17, Luton town with 18, and Sheffield Wednesday, Swansea, and Norwich have 19 points. So 4 points separates relegation and 13th place
