This somehow took them 2 fucking months to decide.
This should have happened directly after the match, CAF threw out Moroccos appeal (blatantly ignoring their own rules). Could have had a senegalese appeal already decided by now.
The actual insane parts are the taking back of the (laughable) punishments/fines for the morrocan interference with the keeper

lmao they even cancelled the fine for stealing the keeper's towel

In addition to Senegal’s defeat by default, as decided by CAF, which declared Morocco the winner of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday evening, other decisions were made, including the cancellation of the fine imposed on Morocco’s Ismael Saibari, who had attempted to steal Édouard Mendy’s towel.

Awarding the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to Morocco, at the expense of Senegal—which won on the field on January 18 (1-0, OT) but lost on the administrative table this Tuesday evening—was not the only decision announced by CAF. The Confederation of African Football also ruled on other appeals. Notably regarding the unlikely controversy over Édouard Mendy’s towel.

At the end of the match, Yehvann Diouf, Senegal’s substitute goalkeeper, was tasked with protecting Mendy’s towel and preventing it from being stolen. In various videos taken from the stands and posted on social media, PSG right-back Achraf Hakimi was seen throwing it over the advertising boards, and full-back Malick Diouf rushing to retrieve it.

But Ismael Saibari, who had been substituted just minutes earlier, also stepped in to mark Diouf closely to prevent him from passing the ball to Mendy. And four ball boys rushed in to snatch the ball from his hands, even if it meant dragging him to the ground.

Fines update:

The PSV Eindhoven player had been fined $100,000 (approximately €86,000), but the fine has been cancelled. He will serve only one suspended match, with the other being a suspended sentence. And what about the ball boys? “The Appeals Panel confirms the responsibility of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) regarding the behavior of the ball boys during this match. The fine imposed on the FRMF for this incident is reduced to $50,000 (approximately €43,000),” writes CAF.

Finally, the lasers that disrupted the final. CAF announced that it has reduced the fine initially imposed on the Moroccan Football Federation: it now stands at $10,000, or just over €8,500. However, the $100,000 fine (approximately €86,000) imposed on Morocco for attempting to interfere with the VAR process remains in place.

The CAF couldn't act more African if they tried.

Btw I've never understood the stripping of titles we all saw won with our own two eyes, where a big spectacle was made of it; medal ceremony, parades, documentation, etc.

@DSP's Tax Lawyer are we supposed to pretend we didn't watch USC win a national title and Reggie Bush win a Heisman back when baggy jeans were still in? C'mon now.

Tour the france is a real mess regarding the stripping of titles.. Theres no winner at all from 99 to 05

Now this is the sort of Newcastle I like to see, knowing that we're probably not going through so fuck it, throw everything at it because fuck it why not.

I cannot believe Barcelona look THIS weak, they're getting absolutely battered by the physicality.

Braindead from Trippier, lucky not to get a red. Guess the ref thought the ball was a little too far away from Raphinha for it to be an obvious goalscoring opportunity

The entire reason why this is stupid is because they let it go for so long. They let the entire clown show go on without the ref stepping in and now months later they decided they actually should put their foots down and punish Senegal for walking off the pitch. Too late CAF, you look powerless and corrupt
Not even 30 minutes into Barca-Newcastle and it's 2-2 (3-3 on aggregate).

Boy this did not age well

For my fellow kiwis, I want to bring something to your attention that might be overlooked (No its not the polish league even though its amazing because the gap between first and the 16th spot that results in relegation is only 14 points).

As you can see, with 8 games to go in Serie A, Inter have a 6 point lead over Milan and 7 point lead over Napoli after Inter tied 1-1 to relegation scrappers Fiorentina over the weekend while both Milan and Napoli won. This means that the title, which was considered over about a month ago, is now well and truly in play. And whats interesting is the games that will be played after the international break. Inter will be hosting Roma, who themselves are battling with Juventus and Como for 4th spot and Champions League (Como are on 57, Juve and Roma are both on 54). Meanwhile Napoli will host Milan on the Monday after the international break. Napoli are getting back their injured players (De Bruyne played a full 90 against Cagliari) and may be even closer to full strength come that Monday. The Napoli vs Milan game absolutely cannot end in a draw if either team wants to win the Scudetto this year. After Roma, the only other team that could possible have Inter dropping points is Como the following week (Inter play Como twice in 9 days with the semi finals of the Coppa Italia right after) and potentially at Lazio. Every other game is most likely an Inter win. AC Milan will host Juventus and Atalanta somewhere down the line but both of those should be winnable games and Napoli's schedule gets tough with Lazio at home and away to Como. The point here is that the Serie A title race gets interesting if Milan and Napoli do not tie. Otherwise, its probably over
